Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
As a recent graduate, I am looking to forego traditional academic pursuits and get back to my peripatetic roots.
ABOUT ME
I am currently based in NYC. Having recently graduated I am taking advantage of a 6-month reprieve from student loans, and traveling through Europe visiting some of the places I have yet been.
PHILOSOPHY
If you're interested, I'll tell you in person...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to meet new people and have them share their knowledge and experiences of their cities and towns with me. In turn, I look forward to hosting fellow sojourners when I return to New York in the Fall of 2010.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Never couch surfed, at least officially through this organization! However, I have hosted many friends and friends of friends in my humble abodes. Have also taken advantage of friends and friends of friends' couches so am no stranger to such acts of kindness!

Music, Movies, and Books
A voracious reader means I have too many books to list, so easier to relate what I've in my hands at the moment: "Walk With the Wind" by John Lewis - an account of the civil rights movement in the USA.
I love all films, so to narrow it down does great injustice. So, some recently-viewed goods include Tony Gatliff's "Exiles", "Waltz with Bashir", "The Messenger", "Breathless" (for the umpteenth time) and "Tekonkinkrit".
It is injurious to likewise reduce my musical interests to a couple lines, but I do enjoy classic rock n' roll, indie bands, experimental jazz, traditional Turkish, electronica, hip hop and Northern Soul/Motown.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen the Perito Moreno glacier in Patagonia in southern Argentina. It might not be on everyone's list of "amazing things" but for me traveling alone and being so far from everyone, at the tail-end of a year on the road, it was a humbling experience to bear witness to a millennia-old wall of water in slow transition.
Teach, Learn, Share
Skills I can impart include yoga and pilates (I am not a certified teacher but have been a student of both for years), organic and biodynamic gardening, and vegetarian/vegan cooking.
I would like to learn how to paraglide, or snowboard, or juggle (fruit, knives, chainsaws - I'm open!).
