About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To fulfill all my promises to strangers

ABOUT ME

I like to move, stay, and host.
But my real life is when I move...

PHILOSOPHY

Those who hear not the music, think the dancer's mad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I give them a window to an otherwise closed region I suppose.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

About 10 different people have crashed at my place in Dushanbe. And before CS, oddities: friends of friends offering a couch in an accidental town, to meeting familes on trains who wouldn't let me pay for a hostel, to sleeping in a taxi (where the driver lived) on the Iraq/Syria border 'cause he didn't want me to pay 2$ for a hotel, to sleeping on a porch full of flowers 'cause inside was too hot, to airport staff offering a warm phone booth floor in Tajikistan as a couch supplement, to the bounty of couches by friends and local commuters who didn't want to say good-bye... just a lot of experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Great Game.
Anything by Raold Dhal, Wilde, or Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
Baraka.
Anything in English would be great these days...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got my haircut by a deaf 15 year old professional barber in Karakalpakstan
.
Also, in retrospect, travelled from Mongolia to Tajikistan by land, Beijing to Delhi too, oh and Montreal to Guatemala, and, San Marino to Palestine once as well. Oh the places in between...

Teach, Learn, Share

FYI: When at high altitude, you can put your hand in boiling water (barely) because the boiling point is lower than the regular 100 degree celsius. This is one of the ways "they" used to measure altitude. Groovy, eh?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sharing windows and steps together...
