My name is Christian.
I grew up in Toronto (Canada). After living in Seattle for many years I've relocated to New York City.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A long time ago I went on a month-long trip around Europe, wherever the wind took me. Mostly alone but with some familiar faces along the way.
I couchsurfed all over Belgium and it changed my outlook on life. It was my first time and everyone I met was so warm. They all took me into their homes and treated me like family.

Then I tried surfing in my own country (Canada) and had a great time too.
So I began hosting in my apartment in Seattle and made some genuine life-long friends.

I haven't had the space to host in a few years and haven't done much travelling, but the memories remain with me. Now I've relocated to NYC and can host depending on my schedule.

Interests

Obsessive music listener. Lately a lot of American folk/indie/psych rock. In the past a lot of hip hop. Always Jazz. On a constant journey to discover more. Live shows as much as possible.

I've been playing guitar since 13. Can find my way around a piano and bass.
I'm handy with computers but need a break from them!
Enjoy long-winded conversations and gruelling outdoor hikes.

Music - too much. 60's/70's funk+soul. From Joni Mitchell to Boris, Zeppelin to Willie Nelson, Tom Waits..Miles Davis... Lately: Khruangbin, Father John Misty, Daniel Romano, Julia Jacklin.
