About Me

I'm stepping up my travel game. I grew up moving around in the military, studying abroad, and then traveling casually as my work as a civil rights/employment law attorney will allow.

I recently completed some longer-term travel. I spent a month in Thailand, three weeks in England, and around various locations in the U.S.

I'm a fairly scrappy traveler for a nearly 40-year old. I like hostels and less-conventional accommodations, particularly because they provide the opportunity to meet fellow travelers. That said, I'm to the point where I prefer a glass or two of wine and a good meal rather than raging parties that go 'till dawn. I do most of my traveling alone and pick up friends along the way...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I've been a member of CS for years, I've only been to a couple meetups. I have not yet been a host or a guest, mainly because I lived in a tiny apartment in Bismarck, ND. Shockingly, no one seems to be passing through Bismarck! I've stayed with Airbnb frequently and have received straight-A's from each of my hosts.

I'm hoping to host in the near future. I have moved close to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks so I hope to open up my home to Couchsurfers once I get settled.

Interests

Spending time with brave people who have interesting stories, music-listening (especially foisting my favorites on others), botanical gardens, public transit.

I helped save someone's life on a plane to Tokyo.

As an employment law attorney, I can tell you hilarious stories about employees gone rogue.
