About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have as much fun as possible - no matter where you are, who you're with or what luck you've been allotted. The only thing that matters is the people you're with and what you're doing now - everything else is either regret or worry.

ABOUT ME

Three words: Fun, friendly and fearless! I live for the moment and try to figure out what makes YOU - whoever I happen to be with at the time - unique, different and special. Call me a dreamer, but believe it or not, we're gonna change the world.

My love affair with travel didn't bloom until a few years ago, but I've addicted to the nomadic lifestyle and the thrill that comes with meeting new people ever since. I've crawled all over the US, lived in Asia, studied in New Zealand and am excited to pay the couchsurfing community back for all the kindness they showed my sister and I for six weeks in Germany.

I love meeting new people and finding out what their passions are, what they live and breathe for, what they want to do with the present moment and the years to come. It's a bit ironic that my passion is discovering the passions of others, but think I'm incredibly lucky to have figured out what I love to do so early in life.

Have I answered your question? Feel like you know me yet? If not, just message me and I'll do my best to fill in the blanks.

PHILOSOPHY

If you can't love yourself, how the hell do you expect to love anybody else?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

"Surfing isn't just about a place to sleep. It's about exchange."

Well said, CF!

For me, this means I'm "couchsurfing" when I go to a meet up of couchsurfers in San Diego, when I run into an interesting group of people traveling abroad at a bar, when I share my love of writing and get to learn about how to swear in Mandarin.

Participating in the Couchsurfing movement is an exchange of knowledge and friendship between true travelers. 'Nuff said.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed on the couches of a few people in Chicago before my housing deal went through (you know who you are, Cary and Joseph!) but I can't wait to crash YOUR couch sometime in the future. Of course you can crash with me as well - I can't wait to meet you, you interesting traveler you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent six months studying and traveling in New Zealand. Ask me later, but yes, I've found heaven on earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: rugby, ultimate frisbee, the evils of the internet, how to make a perfect mohito, how NOT to grill food on the barbecue, the difference between a Kiwi and Ozzi accent, how to make an authentic New Zealand pavlova, how to take a tequila shot like an American university student, how to meet legitimate friends online, how to question your existence, how to use social media to find a job, how to write an interesting blog post, how to get paid to write, how to photoshop your face onto ANYTHING, how to make a brownie in the microwave, how to get through airport security quickly, how to win friends and influence people, how to hitchhike...

Learn: how to surf, to properly use a map, how to speak ____, how to take a shot the ___ way...

Share: lots of laughs, adventures into unknown lands, embarrassingly awkward and awkwardly embarrassing stories...
