ABOUT ME

Hey CouchSurfers!

I've met some wonderful people through this site, and I'm continuing to make great memories by meeting people all around the world. I recently made the move to Toronto after living in Edmonton for more than 2 decades.

Traveling is a huge passion of mine, and every time I get on a plane, I get a surge of adrenaline. There is nothing more exciting than discovering new parts of the world. I realize that I have a limited time left to pursue the travels of my dreams, so I best get to it!

As for who I am, I'm someone who demonstrates and respects values such as equality, likes to stay up to date on current events (aka news junkie), and likes to take calculated risks to satisfy my curiosity and fascination with the world around me. I am quiet and polite at first, but open up tremendously when you get to know me better :)

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that in the most trying times of our lives, we unearth our humanness, and our most beautiful emotions emerge. We learn and grow from our greatest troubles and woes.

I believe in freedom of choice and expression. I may not agree with what you say, but I respect your right to carry your opinions, especially if you can justify them.

I believe in improvement, not perfection - because there will always be someone worse and better than you, because mistakes are natural and human, and because to claim perfection demonstrates that you are ignorant to both of these facts.

I dislike philosophies or affiliations that alienate or ostracize people - I respect a right to religion and politics, but I try to distance myself from affixing labels to my name.

Tolerance is better than intolerance, but not the same as acceptance.

I more or less believe in the golden rule: to treat others with the same way you want to be treated. For me, that means being kind, considerate, patient, and understanding.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this point in time, I am not hosting couch surfers at my place in Toronto. In the future, this could change. I would love to meet couch surfers from all over the world, and would be forever indebted to those who took the time to host me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent a week on the luxurious couch of a couple in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and had the most amazing time EVER! This experience has made me want to be equally and more accommodating to kind strangers who are seeking a place to stay!
