To feel that whenever I've visited a city, I've gotten to know it personally and not just as the Frommer's guides advise. :)

ABOUT ME

Chicago-based guy who's always in search of intellectual fulfillment and pleasure. A trip abroad isn't complete unless I've made at least two new friends.
It doesn't interest me to travel with a close friend and never leave person's side if that means that I won't make any new connections. Although I have a fantastic time traveling with friends every now and then, I often travel solo because I know that my chances of being approached by strangers (and needing to approach strangers for help) are greater when I'm alone than they are when I'm with a companion. If I'm lucky, some of those strangers will become lifelong friends. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- All night parties three nights in a row in Buenos Aires circa 2011. I never knew I could dance while I was half-asleep and not be dreaming.
- Public bathing at Dogo, the "Spirited Away" onsen in the small Japanese town of Matsuyama. Yes, I was the only naked non-Japanese person there, and no, no one stared! :) I found many Japanese people to be very well-mannered in that respect...
- Celebrating my love for London and Paris on my final days in those cities by riding the Tube and the Metro all over and checking out every last stop.

I have a couch, an extra bed and live alone but occasionally have friends and family over.
