About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Nomadism

ABOUT ME

I love cities, their neighbourhoods, landscapes and the mountains. I am an urban explorer seeing each new city and its people as something exciting. I look for atmospheres, local cultures, people's habits etc. I love music, film, art and everything associated with urban culture. When I travel, I take loads of photographs. I normally avoid tourist sites and is particularily interested in sub cultures, old industrial areas, architecture and urban design. I prefer the raw and edgy urban atmospheres to middle class areas and tourist sites.

Some of my favourite cities are (no surprise) New York, Berlin, Madrid, Damascus. But I travel to experience more cities and would like to meet with other people addicted to urban culture.
In my sparetime I do sports. Cycling is an excellent way to experience urban landscapes and the change of atmospheres. I do rowing in the harbour daily to get a break from the city and to come closer to (urban) nature. Rowing and the sea is my way to relax and get away from everything. In a Danish context I will probably be described as 'outgoing'. However, this may not be the case in a global perspective.

PHILOSOPHY

Nomadism
Non-linear philosophy meaning that I don't see my life as a linear development but as an ever changing collage of people, sentiments and places.

"We prefer to do things comfortably. But, I don’t want comfort… I want poetry, I want danger, I want freedom, I want goodness, I want sin" - Aldous Huxley

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am interested in knowing other people and to get an idea of how they are stitching together everyday life. How do you organize your life, your city, your home, your every day routines? These everyday architectures interest me. And I would like to share my own urban everyday architectures with you. I believe that exhange of every day architectures and a honest attitude to yourself and your surroundings enables a human approach to change things. I have lost faith in politics. Now I believe in people, art and micro-events and narratives as the true lines of flight.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New York: Not only Manhattan but to venture out in the 5 bourroughs to experience a human diversity which is extraordinary.

Damascus: one of the world's oldest cities. The most friendly people I've ever met.

Meeting Brazilians.

Doing a ph.d. was a radical travel experience. An inward journey

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always interested in learning from others and their every day experiences. How is life? I know a lot about cities, even though I haven't been there yet, I know things about how they are organized, planned and how history, people, cultures and economics shape cities. So I would always love to hear and be introduced to your city. And I can show you mine...
