A friend from US that got to know me better desceribed me as a maverick. As my english vocabulary was not as good as hers, I had to google it out and I have to say I would agree on that - "Maverick - an independent individual who does not go along with a group or party, an unorthodox or independent-minded person".

Due to many things going on in my life beside daily office job (mentioned later: disc golf, pub quizzes, weekly volleyball game, guitar lessons, yoga...) most of the year I can be super busy so I prefer to host people that are independent and fine with exploring the city on their own with me joining for as much as I'm able (or maybe barely seeing them)

I like the nature and spending time in it. I'm an active disc golf player (golf with the frisbee) and just love to attend the tournaments whenever I can (mostly Austria, Hungary and Slovenia, but from time to time also in Germany, Finland, UK etc).
Aside to that I also do yoga, and run a yoga studio (from 2014-2017, on a break in 2018&2019, hopefully to start that studio again in 2020).

I like to cook but only the dishes I create in my head without strict recipes. That's why I often call my meals "tasty food", and not real dishes.
When I cook 90% of the dishes are vegan. I do eat meat, but just now and then and pretty much only when eating out or at some friends. I try to eat healthy food. Due to food intolerance I do my best to avoid eggs, soy, cow milk and cow milk dairy products (but I am fine with goat or sheep milk products).

I don't smoke. When it comes to drinks my first choices are red wine or dark beer.

I like gardening and growing your own food so I'm involved in organization of first Croatian community gardens. I'm interested in permaculture and am trying to learn more about sustainable living (this is a bit on hold since 2018, but will probably be happening again sometime in the future)

I am not religious. I think that I don't need religion to tell me what to do with my life. I believe I can make it awesome on my own.

Since 2018 I love to attend Pub Quizzes and Trivia games and at the same time to learn new stuff (mostly about geography, history, art and science).

CURRENT MISSION
Go and live 1 month per year (most likely February) in another country and get to know the place, the culture and locals.
Read the ultimate Hitchhiker guide to the galaxy ... again ... all volumes (*still happening, since 2014. I am a slow reader)

Learn to play a guitar (*since October 2018)

PHILOSOPHY

I have been hosting people since 2005, and when I go somewhere I love to meet locals even if i don't need accomodation.

I have been using HospitalityClub website since 2005 to 2011, but as CouchSurfing proved to be much better maintained, I have switched over here :)
Since than I have had many great CS experiences.
In 2016 I have moved from a house to a flat and did not host people until 2018 as the new place was in a constant mess. It pretty much still is, but I might host more from November 2018 on.

One of the nicest CS experiences was hosting two Italian guys in 2019. They are riding a tandem bycicle to China. The fact that one of them was blind was really incredible, and also this was the first time I have had communication with a blind person and it was something new. (if you want to, follow them on Instagram at #itoeye ).

Since 2020 I live with a girlfriend and a dog and I am not able to host people anymore, but if my work allows it, I'd be happy to meet up.
