ABOUT ME

For some reason my ISP seems to think I am in Yorkshire....rather than Hampshire...

I haven't made any recent travels after being made redudant and still recovering....although a few of years ago I went to Reykjavik and had a fantastic time..before that it was Spain and Morocco - what a great couple of places....

Although I have just moved house and got a new job... yaay.....I am beginning to find my feet and am happy to show you around if you decide to drop by. Unfortunately I am only really unable to offer a couch during the school holidays, unless you give me plenty of advance notice - I do have a small single and an inflatable matress...

I work in a prep school teaching science and coaching sports which unfortunately means that even the weekends can sometimes make hosting tricky!!

I like to cook a bit - you might be lucky and catch me on a good night and join me for a meal.

During term time, I work like a trojan and look forward to the holidays when i can escape and enjoy all that the world can offer.
Recent trips to Iceland, North Africa, India and Asia have given me a new outlook on life and an appreciation of the opportunities and advantages I have. When you have seen (and smelt) the slums in Delhi there isn't much that you can moan about......

Love nothing better than being out and about and doing something energetic, but there are days when sitting in front of a dvd, reading a book or listening to some great music just feels right!

PHILOSOPHY

Life isn't a dress rehearsal, you only get 1 chance to be happy.
There really isn't any point in getting stressed about things that are out of your control - control the controllables and forget about the stress of everything else
and
you can't make people do anything they really don't want to do

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Might have a couch available - as I share......it is difficult - hosting is easier in the school holidays if I am around!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Experienced a fantastic time in Iceland but have also enjoyed weekends in Newcastle, London, Bristol and Amsterdam for various marathons and half marathons...but other than that it just hasn't worked out, my timing has been off or I have been travelling when someone needed my help!

Seen the Orang u tans in Borneo - a wonderful place......
Stroked tigers in Thailand
Dived with sharks and turtles in Sipidan
Climbed mountains in Morocco
Avoided 'Delhi Belly' in India
Eaten pizza in Italy....
Run the marathon, and pinched some Volcanic ash from Iceland....
