Overview
About Me
Lived in North Kurdistan for 3 years before moving to Erbil, now on my way to work in Sulaymaniyah. A teacher and archaeologist my profession. I usually spend my time exploring, socializing, talking politics. Laid back, open-minded - I like to think I'm easy to get on with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Moving to Suli, I'm starting a fresh - looking to meet friends with similar interests or people who just want to hang.
Interests
My interests are way to varied to list here but always into history, archaeology and exploring the local area to find some interesting places. Love to party, but also have the odd quiet drink (tea or otherwise) and will have plenty of time on my hands. Interested to improve my Kurdish - so if anyone is interested in language exchange let m know.

Music, Movies, and Books
Pretty eclectic tastes from electronic to rock, Kurdish to Malinese; just less of the love songs :)
Books - classical lit, travelogues, and anything perceived as boring.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking out in the desert and sleeping under the shooting stars after finding a roman tomb hidden away. That was pretty cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a local archaeologist I can give a little tour if I have some free time either of important sites or I can invite you to the excavation for a tour of our work, although this is mainly in the summer.
I spend all my time in cafes so can definitely recommend a few off the main roads that are worth a visit.
