Hi all. I'm Julia from Almaty.

I can't host at the moment but glad to meet with travelers or locals.

I like nature, mountains, hiking and trekking.
I also like city walks. Just walk around a city and see life going around.
But if I have a choice between spending time in the nature or in the city I'd prefer nature, somewhere far from crowds and city noises. Especially mountains are my favorite places.

I don't really like and don't go to night clubs and bars. So can't give an advice on questions about clubs and bars in Almaty.
But I can help you with the information about local natural attractions and hikings.

I prefer to meet in person first before adding to my friends list.
I don't accept friend requests from people who I haven't met yet in real life.

I don't use Couchsurfing as a dating website.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is still a great community. Although there are more people using it like dating website or free hotel, still can meet genuine people who understand the initial concept.

I met many wonderful people here and with some of them we became real friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading books a lot. As soon as I finish one book I look for a new one to start.
Recently finished reading Victor Hugo. And reading Leo Tolstoy now.
For the music and movies my taste is quite diverse too.
But the best music for me is gentle sounds of the wind or waves, or other nature's sounds. And the best movie is "reality show" of the life around.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked in tropical jungles

Climbed 4300 meters high peak near Almaty

Crossed almost 5000 meters high Chimtarga pass in Tajikistan and saw the most beautiful lakes there
