About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet people, have fun, visit new places

ABOUT ME

It's about time I completed my profile, I've been here for a year!
I'm getting on a bit, but not so much that I can't enjoy life to the full. I've got a daft sense of humour which comes in handy in my job as a teaching
assistant in a nursery, with 3-4 year olds who keep me young in heart and spirit.
I'm also studying for an art degree, but because it's part-time, it's taking a few years to attain.Although many things and events inspire me, finding time to produce artwork from them seems to take forever- I'll get round to it one day!

PHILOSOPHY

Make the most of everything in life - it's precious - and short.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2009, I was lucky enough to be one of 2400 people chosen to participate in an artistic project by Anthony Gormley. It was the One and Other project for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square. This allowed 1 person to have 1 hour on an empty plinth which is 30 feet high,1 metre x 4 metres, with a safety net attached.Everyone was allocated an hour between 9am 5th July to 8am 14th October.
Many people regarded their time as a means of performance art, but I wanted to communicate with the visitors who were enjoying London.
I was lucky enough to have 4-5pm on August 14th when there were lot of people around.
From my vantage point I chatted using soup cans and string, made a crayon rubbing of the plinth's surface, then wrote my thoughts/feelings on, made and flew paper aeroplanes, and gave people individually-named plastic ducks - sounds daft I know - ask me the story. I made etchings later, based on the photographs I took of the clock on St.Martins Church, and the net.
Anyway, I found it amazing!!
