About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I would like to discover the 'ultimate' couch. Is there even such a thing????

ABOUT ME

I am a 32 year old guy. I’m a full time graphic designer. I am also a musician, although I don’t think its worth me quitting the day job. I am mellow. I think I am funny. It has been said. I am clawing my way back towards punctuality after years of arriving late for things. I like people with a sense of humour (particularly those with bizarre, twisted imaginations). I speak a bit of French, a bit of Italian… although neither as good as I should. I’m heading to California soon for a couple of weeks around LA and the Coachella Festival. See you CS-ers there!

PHILOSOPHY

After a few drinks I can be as deep and meaningful as the next dude â

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Me and my girlfriend have an apartment/flat near the centre of the pretty cool town of Glasgow, so I think it makes a lot of sense that I welcome some people who wanna see it. I have experienced the kindness and hospitality of people around the world, so I am willing to pass on the favour. We have a medium-sized couch which is suitable for a small person, but my airbed C-Surfers can use. I hope to leave Glasgow in the near future to discover other couches, animals, people, climates……

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my suspicions about Couch Surfing. Then, I saw all the cool people that came to stay at my girlfriends flat. I realized that the kind of people who would use such a thing are good souls (generally, some were a bit weird). Sometimes the people you see everyday can become a bit tiresome, too familiar, boring. Whereas the kind of people I have met through CS have been like people I have met travelling in faraway lands. Some of these people end up friends for life. So… in that respect, I’ve changed my mind. It’s awesome.

The shorter version is… I like foreign people more than I like local people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I am tuned to the following frequencies – Cocteau Twins, Tune-yards, Little Dragon, Metronomy, Grizzly Bear, LCD Soundsystem, TVOTR, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Real Estate, Talking Heads… Other than that I dig a multitude of things from the Chilis to Chopin.

Movies – I love movies, but I never find lists of movies as representative of a person. OK, the last old one I watched was 'Bridge On The River Kwai' and the last new one was 'Hunger Games'.

Books – Fante, Bukowski, Hemingway, Collins Concise English Dictionary

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve been lucky enough to have done and seen lots of incredible things, but diving at the Great Barrier Reef was the one that I feel a bit lucky for.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will teach you how to play 'Girl' by the Beatles on the guitar. That, and you can have some toast and coffee if you are hungry.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom
