About Me

CURRENT MISSION

After travelling along the West Coast of Africa for eight months we are in France to build on our poor french and make some new friends along the way! We are cycling from Caen to La Rochelle and then back through Britanny

ABOUT ME

We are an engaged couple, both British doctors, recently arrived back in europe after eight months travelling in West Africa. We hope to return to Africa (South Africa) in August 2012 where work, once more, awaits.

See the blog: http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-blog/robspackman/1/tpod.html

We have met so many fantastic people through CS and think it is the best idea ever! it as revoultionised our experiences of travelling, seeing places through the eyes of local people and getting to see things you would never find by yourself in a strange place. the world has become much smaller...

PHILOSOPHY

You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far we have only surfed as we discovered CS once on the road - but can't wait to host when we finally plant our feet in one place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything in Penguin Popular or modern Classics. Poetry, classic films. PS. Kindles dont last in Africa.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nigerian health and safety. An upended petrol tanker, men collecting the juice by the bucket whilst a bush farmer happily burns his stubble alongside and grins.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things we know about - erm... Health, books, backpacking! Cooking, English ales, where to find a good curry house. Cultural contrasts. Sarah can teach you to play the piano, rob can teach you how to take off a beer bottle without an opener...

We want to learn to speak French well! We can always help with English.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Benin, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cook Islands, Côte d'Ivoire, Fiji, France, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Laos, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Portugal, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Togo, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
