Personal philosophy on life? Feelings? Thoughts? well...

we've all been placed on this earth with a reason. We are all unique and get unique opportunities. It is extremely important to embrace who you are - be it strange, silent, loud, direct, shy. "Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are" - Kurt Cobain. Everyone is needed in their own way, we all need each other to live this life to the fullest and bring out the best in each other.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experience with surfing someone's couch yet. At least not trough this website. I'm looking forward to crash on strange, smelling, dirty, beautiful, fuzzy, wrecked or in perfect condition couches all over the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the Northern Territory in Australia, you can visit the Douglas Hot Springs. During the day this place is packed with tourists but at the end of the day they all leave. My travel mates and I decided it was a good place to spend the night. So we followed the river and looked for a small hidden beach where we could lay down our sleeping bags.

We prepared dinner, played guitar, drunk wine and fell asleep. One of the guys woke us up when he thought he had spotted a crocodile, but we didn't see anything and everyone fell asleep again.

The next morning I woke up right before sunrise. The others were still asleep, so I walked back to the Hot Springs to take a morning bath. There was fog everywhere from the hot water touching the cool air - little pools with steam floating of them surrounded by palm trees - and that's when the sun started to shine trough the steam. A tropical bird stretched it's wings in the early sunlight and it made his feathers look like gold. The frogs and the birds were singing all together and as I was sitting in the warm water, taking this all in, I saw a fresh water crocodile swim by. Undisturbed by my presence.

Everything felt so peaceful and when the sky broke open for a minute, strong sunbeams fell down on the warm pools before me. It looked like heaven opened itself just for a moment..
