About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make my wish list thinner and thinner before I fill it with new wishes again :)

ABOUT ME

Positive, easy-going, uncomplicated. A mixture of rationality and instinctivity! Just give me a little push and you'll see me slipping into a rubber sumo wrestling suit or putting my dancing skills to the test in a Finnish tango workshop :D
Curiosity will kill me someday!
I love exploring cities on foot and I could walk for hours and hours non-stop, chatting about everything and nothing at all. I enjoy both visiting museums/old-school tourist attractions and discovering more off-the-beaten-track spots.
I don't smoke and I drink moderately.
I have two addictions: Nutella and pesto sauce (not at the same time, though) = pure happiness.

PHILOSOPHY

Smile and the world will smile back at you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

[Unfortunately I cannot host right now because I'm a lodger myself, but I'll be more than happy to show CS-ers around, recommend places, help them out with all the practical things they might need a hand with, meet up for a coffee/tea/beer/meal or just take a walk and have a chat when they happen to be in Stockholm.] Update! I am not living in Stockholm at the moment, I'll be staying in Milan until I know where life takes me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No long experience with CS so far, but I'm building it up month after month.
However, I've been hosted several times and me and my family did host across the years friends, friends of a friend, never-met-before penpals as well as pilgrims back home in Milan and I did the same in Sweden when I had the possibility to do so.
Some (non-recommendable) places where I've slept: on a beach with a knee in my back and my knee in someone else's, on a balcony when the night was too hot to fall asleep indoor, in the Central Station in Oslo (sitting up because the security guys there thought it wouldn't look *proper enough* if we should sleep lying down... I was way much younger back then!)

Interests

Foreign languages, translating, travelling, meeting new interesting people, reading, drawing, dreaming & daydreaming,...
I'm definitely not into politics (sorry!) and if we're watching sports on TV, I'll probably fall asleep.

on my wish list for the future:
* learn how to work with stained glass --> check!
* take a massage course (my friends say I'm good at it) --> check!
* see Iceland (--> check!) and the Easter Island

  • traveling
  • languages
  • laughing
  • wandering
  • local culture
  • translation
  • local cuisine
  • all things kitsch/tacky/trashy
  • random fun

Music, Movies, and Books

A selection of books I would recommend:
*One, no one and one hundred thousand* by Luigi Pirandello
*Norwegian Wood* by Haruki Murakami
*Misery* by Stephen King
*The Emperor of Portugallia* by Selma Lagerlöf
*Silk* by Alessandro Baricco
Don't ask me about their plots though 'cause my memory is very short.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've cycled throughout the whole Swedish island of Gotland in a week (and I hadn't ridden a bike for around 8 years when we started, shame on me!).
I met Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, Finland at Easter time.
I've unexpectedly seen the northern light and snow falling down in May (???).
My 12 days in Iceland!!!
