UPDATE: We are open to host once or twice in July 2019. We have a baby now and we live in the Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle (not downtown), so things have changed from what you might see in reviews or the description below. We do have a private room now though, so your stay would be more comfortable from that point of view. Bus to downtown in about 30 minutes, bus to University District / Green Lake / Wallingford in 10-15 minutes. We'd love to host someone traveling with one (more) kid(s), as we're new to this club of parenthood and we've been learning to deeply appreciate all the crazy efforts it takes to raise and care for another human being. I live in Seattle with Joe, my husband, and our two cats. We are both computational linguists and are working in the field of speech technology. We love talking about our jobs (natural language processing), watching movies, going for walks and playing board games.

I lived in Romania and Japan before moving to the US. I felt culture shocks and reverse culture shocks so many times while traveling between Romania/Europe and Japan, that I feel nothing can shock me anymore. But alas, the world is big :)

Joe is from Brooklyn (Coney Island), but he lived all over the South for the past 10 years, including 6 years in Florida. He likes football, whiskey and a good steak.

We are just starting our careers in Seattle and we are excited about what the future will bring us. And we are definitely excited about meeting people from all over the world, right on our sofa!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love staying at a person's house when I'm visiting a new city. A warm house that is lived by somebody is so much better than an empty hotel room.
This is why I want to offer this to others, and CS is a great means to do it!

I surfed and hosted whenever I had a room available since I joined CS. I met some great people through CouchSurfing that I still keep in touch with.
