Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

Breathe, Smile, Laugh, Love, Enjoy :D

ABOUT ME

I have always loved travelling, in fact in the past I have found it difficult to stay in one place for an extended period of time. I love meeting new people and getting to know people in general. I am a big kid at heart, I love to play, sing, dance, be silly, sometimes not so silly and generally enjoy every moment. I am just trying to experience as much of every moment of life as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for the simple joy of being part of the shared energies of the world. It's the seemingly minute everyday experiences and "coincidences" that make the life as perfect as it is. Living is never what you expect, it's always SO MUCH MORE!! And that's why I love it so much!
And then there's Love. You can never have or give too much of it... AND, the more you give the more you have. It's amazing.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I LOVE to host people whenever I can :) (unfortunately, I haven't been able to much this year, but getting back into it! ) Being able to stay home and invite new friends in to experience a little bit of my life... it's priceless! In addition to that, travelling and seeing the world through the lives of others is magical. Surfing, hosting, travelling, learning, exploring...just meeting as many people as I can! Experiencing every aspect of CS is how I like to do it :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

On my trip across this beautiful country I call home, I was lucky enough to stay with Dave and Jan in Winnipeg! Then, my first experience in Saskatoon was with Neil (and he is part of the reason I stayed!!) After moving to Saskatoon, I hosted a number of couchsurfers from different parts of the world. Last summer I got to stay with Fernanda in Sao Paulo and then with Wendy and Rohan in Vancouver.
Now that I'm in Vancouver, I am looking to host and surf and get to know as many couchsurfers as possible because it has been nothing but good times and awesome experiences :)

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I can hardly pick ONE amazing thing...I feel like every day another amazing thing happens...
That being said, one thing I've done that was pretty high on the epic scale was the time I travelled alone for 6 weeks in Kenya, Africa. I got to spend a lot of time with some beautiful children, who had the misfortune of being orphans. And, I got to go on a 4 day safari (which since then I cannot go to a zoo...it just makes me too sad).
I also went to New Orleans Louisiana for Mardi Gras a few years back...and the only thing I'll say about that is that I came home with quite a few beads (check out my pic's, I have one from that trip of me dragging a random guy in a wagon!) ;) If we get a chance to meet ask me about that story, it's a good one!
More recently I got to spend some time in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Driving through and visiting the Andes was breathtaking. And hand-gliding in Rio was crazy cool!
I lived in a van for half a year driving across both of the islands that make up New Zealand, while stopping occasionally to experience some Wwoofing.
I also have the bragging rights for having driven across Canada. I have been to and stayed in every province East to West! (Next: The Territories!)
I am so grateful for a life abundant in amazing things!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Well...as for Learn...how about everything? I just never want to stop learning (which is part of why I became a teacher!) I LOVE languages. I spent my university career learning French and studying English. I'm trying to learn Spanish. I love dancing salsa and bachata and I am attempting to learn west coast swing. I'd really like to try some more traditional African dancing and I want to learn more hip hop and break dancing (I just learned how to stall!!!) I want to learn more about painting and sketching, Photography, Cooking, yoga, meditation, natural medicines, herbs/spices, farming, reiki, reflexology, music (cello perhaps, or the accordion)...That...plus everything else!
I have a degree in Education, so according to society I can "officially" teach French and English. I also know how to play piano, saxophone and a little violin (I did 3 levels of the Suzuki method). I am a decent vegetarian cook and can teach the basics (to someone that doesn't need formal training). I have been swimming since I as about 3 years old and could teach someone how to swim (I have 12 swim levels, diving and pre lifguarding training). I can braid hair quite well, I can do normal french braids and pigtail french braids, cornrows, inverse cornrows, corn braids...etc. I know a lot of random things, so if you're looking for someone to teach you something you might think is odd, just ask...I may know!
As for Share...Anything. What do you need? If I have it, I'll share it.
