About Me

CURRENTLY

Traveling around North America with my van when I’m not back where I’m based in LA! Haven’t been on Couchsurfing in years but met some of my best friends on here ten years ago. Excited to return to the community :)

The rest of this is my old profile:

ABOUT ME

i am overwhelmingly passionate about travel and chasing secret stunners of places around the world, meeting inspiring people to share them with, about art of all kinds and things that make me think, ideas and conversations that bloom into new growth, living like the world is ours to make the most of in this time we have on it.

when i'm living right, there's nothing bigger than my overwhelming excitement and awe of the world and the possibilities it contains.

i'm falling hopelessly in love with photography, writing and art—anything that might allow me to try and capture and create meaningful things from my too-quickly-passing experience.

PHILOSOPHY

i'm always striving to live my life as honestly as possible in terms of what makes me happy and fulfilled. i trust that my job is just to keep walking in the direction i feel is right, even if it scares me, and life will work itself out.

I am constantly blown away by what life brings when I commit to this job—leaping continues to bring the most thrilling of beauty.

I also truly believe that when we each live this way, we inspire and empower those around us to do the same. We are the best supporters of one another once we learn to first support ourselves—or, simpler said: happiness breeds happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Always being excited to make new friendships and memories. I've met amazing people through this so far and can't wait for the day I have my own couch to share, and get to show people the same hospitality that they have given me.

I strive towards giving more fearlessly, in every way, and value experiences like those cs brings for reminding that there is always new room to grow. You kids are my teachers and I still feel so young.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has directly changed my life, it means something very real to me even though those words often feel stripped of meaning haha. It's brought me to some of the most important people I've ever met, friends that remain a huge part of my life, experiences that have come to lead me down paths I might never have found before. This is travel and life the way I love it—getting to experience a place with locals and new friends, to see it through their eyes and create real memories with them in these places. And then, to see what wild places these new doors we open together lead us to.

Interests

philosophy, art (especially works that surprise me, that carry and explore ideas that intrigue me), creating art, exploring, learning, laughing, good conversation and connecting with inspiring people, everything that feeds and inspires me to feed.

Music, Movies, and Books

books include: invisible cities, the unbearable lightness of being, everything is illuminated, middlesex, east of eden, eating animals, everything that promises new ideas and perspectives through stories stunningly written.

so many films. the experience of watching films itself.

stories that play and push us to explore places we might not have found alone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting caught in a rainforest downpour alone with a wild orangutan sitting in the canopy above me in Borneo.

20 days of trekked exploration that took me 5,500 m up the Himalayas, those mountains pressed against the stars.

The sweet moments that truly amaze me are those when I'm reminded I can still surprise myself, and that the world and the souls it brings can still surprise me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm... I have lots of thoughts I am hungry to hear and lots of ideas to share, most of this will have to be saved for conversation and experiences had in person.

But I suppose if there is one thing I might be able to share here, it is a lesson I try to always remember: that sometimes you need to just let go and jump—despite your fear and whether you know where you will land—for the world to sweep you off your feet and show you what living could really mean.
