Balkan Urban Ethnic Social Art (I'm a musician and concert organiser)

ABOUT ME

I am a musician and concert organiser/stage manager. I grew up in a big town in Romania, Arad, but spent a lot of time in the Apuseni mountains. Many of my influences include those places. I've graduated from Communication and PR University in Timisoara and ever since I was a student I've been organising student festivals, concerts and other artistic events. I play in bands most of the time, but none have sticked too much yet. My last project was a romanian, balkan and russian punk band and this is what I'm working on rebuilding now. I've always been a fan of good music no matter the source or genre it comes from. I can't stand stupidity, meaningless evil and fake atributions. I use the internet a lot, even if I think that 'Digital is heresy'. I work with a gipsy music festival in Timisoara and an Eco festival in the Apuseni Mountains, so I'm like that. I grew up as an orthodox, but I no longer consider myself one, even if I still respect most of their moral precepts. I have travelled much in my life, mostly around my country. Now I work with my father trying to build-up a tourism agency around our country. I have travelled abroad for pleasure, in bands and hitch-hiking as a busker and I love it. I hope I can help other people experience my country as others have helped me experience theirs.

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing is more important than the truth and good. I can only try to be as close as I can to that, try to get others to do it also and make it all as pleasant an experience as I can, for most people involved. I think that life is a very beautiful thing and I try to enjoy as much of it as I can.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a very culturally active member of my community, constantly organising some event or concert or band. I can have people stay at my place and immerse them in the world of music in Timisoara. Hope it helps.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have travelled at other people I met on the spot and I've had other people stay at my place like that, but only this summer I have used Couch Surfing. It was great in Budapest, sleeping in a yurt built especially for couch surfers.

兴趣

Music. I'm a drummer, songwriter and curently aquiring skills in playing other instruments. I'm very much interested in global and mass communication, hence my university, as I believe it to be the most influential aspect of our civilisation. I'm interested in playing music that changes views and opens up minds, and also interested in helping others do so.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Together with a friend of mine we have formed The Hobo Sapiens Travelling Company. (first interactive music band in the world) Have been to a Metallica concert. Have gone down in Groapa Ruginoasa (maybe also the stupidest thing I've ever done, it's a dangerous ravine in Romania). And managed to fall head over heels in love once.
