ABOUT ME

I'm a sock girl. You know.. some women like bags and some like shoes. I like socks. Preferably warm, fuzzy, knitted socks.

My name is Maiken and I'm 20-something years old. At first I might be quite shy and you will notice by blushed cheeks (although that could be the sun, or alcohol) but once the ice is broken I'm easygoing and down to earth.

I'm a first born, reasonable, well-raised, polite, helpful girl; I'm a tomboy who loves to climb trees (yes, still do); loves spinach, porridge and rye bread; I've never been fond of talking on the phone; I'm a registered and mostly active blood donor (when not in quarantine due to things like piercing, tattoo or travelling) as well as organ donor and in fact I've donated my entire body in the name of science; I hate being the center of attention; I do yoga, running and weightlifting; I love reading and listening to music.
My name has resulted in rather funny pronunciations, so I have a variety of nicknames if necessary.

My dream is to backpack/hitchhike CS-style and gain understanding of the diversity of this world as well as experiencing and learning about the different cultures through the local life and food.

The diversity of the world and it's many hidden wonders. I hope to experience as many of these as possible. I have always been fascinated by nature. As of lately I've become very fond of cooking. I love photography for all the emotions you can express with this kind of art. Especially black and white photography has a special place in my heart.

Music, Movies, and Books

Watching movies can often be a little challenging, as I don't always have the patience. I love reading crime novels, guidebooks and travel stories, but still Harry Potter completely captivated me. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on a Lions Club exchange-trip on a sail yard with 19 other youths from around the world and staying with a host family.

Sailing under the stars in the Atlantic Ocean.

Interrail with a friend (and the friends met on the trip), sleeping in parks, on hillsides, walking 25 km along the railway in Greece (train strike).
