About Me

"Some people feel the rain. Other just get wet..." - Bob Marley
"A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart" - Goethe

Those are 2 quotes (I love quotes) that summarize pretty well my philosophy.

Another one, that explains why I am on Couchsurfing is: "Traveling without meeting the people is not traveling, it is just moving from a place to another one" from Alexandra David-Néel

After my studies I traveled through New-Zealand, Australia and Asia in a pretty classic "backpacking" way. Although I loved it, I also ended up quite frustrated from not getting much more insights from the "local" lifestyle than a glance on the surface, mainly meeting fellow travelers.

That's why, when I went to travel in Southern Africa (after a year in England replenishing the bank account), I used couchsurfing, helpX and other similar communities regularly to immerse myself as much as possible. And that way of traveling fulfilled way more. I ended up living in a Guest Lodge in the mountains of South Africa, in a campsite near a National Park in Botswana or in a village next to the Victoria falls. And now, I can't really imagine myself traveling in a different way.

Today, I'm traveling with my girlfriend on a bicycle (after 2 years living in Amsterdam, replenishing the bank account again ^^). We started from Amsterdam, and our first goal was to get to South of Spain before keeping on the adventure in Latin America (checked).

And as you can imagine, this adventure is about grasping a tiny bit better the richness and diversity of humanity (this is why we love Couchsurfing and Warmshowers so much). And we are also very keen on learning more about sustainability and how we and other people can contribute to a more beautiful world.
