About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet happy interesting souls along my journeys!

ABOUT ME

I am 36. I have lived in Vancouver (mostly) since 2003. I work from home for a big company based in San Francisco. In my spare time I teach classical hatha yoga, in addition to the usual general interests. I am passionate about travelling, and yoga, which simply means union between body, mind and spirit. I'm looking to connect with souls throughout the world. I love to cook, and eat (who doesn't?!). And snowboarding, hiking, dancing, reading, all of life's little pleasures!

Swami Sivananda: "Serve, love, give, purify, meditate, realize. Be good, do good, be kind, be compassionate. Adapt, adjust, accommodate. Bear insult, bear injury, highest yoga." I am doing my best!

PHILOSOPHY

Honesty is the best policy. My dad drilled this into my head when I was very young, and it seems to work pretty well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met up with a lovely girl in NZ through CS and we canoed together for a few days. While living in France I joined the CS meetup groups and made some lovely friends. We also hosted occasionally. While I do have a couch, it is also my work space and I work 7am-4pm, so at the moment not ideal to host visitors, sorry :(

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I lived in Switzerland in 1999 we often had random guests on our couch. Not with CS, but we had a rambling old house so everyone offered our place to stay to their friends. I loved waking up and finding a stranger in the living room, someone new to play with and hit the slopes and bars.

Interests

Travelling and exploring, meeting people with amazing stories and interesting new perspectives on life, yoga, literature, snowboarding, cooking, being a homebody. I most love enjoying a meal with good friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one?! Hmmm...

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach yoga! Meditation, breathing exercises, and of course yoga poses (learn to stand on your head!). Very happy to exchange yoga lesson for couch stay.

I would love to learn guitar and harmonica. I would also be keen to learn more about Tibetan Buddhist meditation (mindful meditation).
