About Me

I grew up in this part of France the "quiche lorraine" is from (it is the best way I found so far to describe it). It is also close from Germany, and my mother actually did really grow up in Germany, so that makes me technically half-French half-German.

As soon as I got enough independance and confidence to leave this cold rainy region, I went to study in Grenoble where I obtained a master's degree in engineering and another one in international business administration. Then, I grabbed an opportunity and went to work in Switzerland for 3 years as a business development manager. It gave me the chance to put my hands deep into the greasy gears of capitalism. After a suite of inner conflicts related the sale of my soul and the suffocation of my ethical values for the benefit of the profit-oriented company I was working for, I decided to take off for a two years solo travel to reassess what is important for me. In the proccess, I became a freelance translator, thus adopting a location-independant lifestyle which satisfies until now my hunger for freedom.

I am now in the process of settling down, with my beautiful bosnian/croatian girlfriend Jelena, in Briançon, a beautiful middle-sized mountain town of the French Alps. We are also working on a hostel/coliving/coworking (cloudcitadel.co) which is supposed to open its doors in next June.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met very interesting people thanks to this website and I do hope to meet more of them!

Interests

I feel it is easier to list what I don't like rather than what I actually do like (the list would be too long), so... here is what I don't like: watching soccer, fancy cars, makeup, religion, capitalism, crowds and big cities, fast food, olives, bitter beers, conspiracy theories, having too many material possessions, when people pretend to be someone they are not, when people ask you questions and don't listening the answers.

Music, Movies, and Books

A rainbow in the night, Five past midnight in Bhopal, Le parfum d'Adam, The monkey wrench gang, Silent Spring, L'empire des anges, Le miroir de Cassandre, The tibetan book of the dead, Writings from Timoty Leary and Ralph Metzer, On the Hippie Trail from Istanbul to India, Sophie Scholl, Sylvain Tesson, Das baader meinhof Komplex, Das Untergang, Gandhi, Persepolis, Goodbye bafana, The imaginarium of Docteur parnassus, Pulp fiction, Inception, Interstellar, Mr Nobody, Paulo Coelho, Carlos Castaneda, Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Graham Hancock, Rupert Sheldrake...
