About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To conquer the world!!!! (or at least learn more about it)

ABOUT ME

I am a free spirit and have always marched to the beat of my own drum. My interest in traveling began in college when my job was to book and plan all these exciting vacations for other people to travel the world. I finally got tired of watching, and decided to finally get of the couch and start DOING!!!

A few years ago a friend of mine introduced me to yachting, which gave me a free ticket to Spain, a few months to save money working and traveling with the boat, and an opportunity to see 5 countries I had never been to before. I've been addicted since then.

When the season ended that fall, I jumped off the boat and have been living and enjoying the world ever since, traveling to 29 countries over the last few years. I am currently back in the states and just got a new place in Salt Lake, but I find myself on the road quite often. I am laid back, easygoing and have a very big appetite for adventure!!!

I am an author, and just published my first book "Bare Naked Nomad" which I am busy trying to promote both here in the U.S. and abroad. I also run an online business which allows me to work from anywhere in the world.

I love the outdoors, and you will often find me hiking both here in my beautiful home state of Utah where I lived for nearly 20 years. Most recently I was living in Mexico, and now I am back in the US spending some time exploring hopefully the rest of this country (I think I am at about 45 out of all 50 states.) I also love music, and I am an easy going, relaxed, and open minded person.

PHILOSOPHY

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because my home is my suitcase at the moment, the best way I can participate is to share the things I have learned in my own travels, as well as my own culture and beliefs with people all over the world

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I didn't use couchsurfing too much abroad, but the few experiences I had were eye opening to all the good people that exist in this world. I am trying to become a little more active with it now and hope one day I have a place where I can host others and repay the favor.

Interests

I love books, music, art, theater, fashion, design, the outdoors (snowboarding, hiking, camping, the beach) exploring new places, photography, writing, personal development and anything that is enriching and will make me a better person

The Alchemist ( My two favorite books)
I love ALL music but especially Jack Johnson, 80's rock, and watching live acoustic music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing around an errupting volcano for 3 hours in Sicily...
Finding my great grandmothers name in the records at Auswitz (when up to that point the family never really knew what happened to her)....
Backpacking with my 64 yr old dad through Europe......
Taking a nap inside of the Coliseum in Rome and a surprisingly empty and slow day
Writing and publishing my first book

Teach, Learn, Share

EVERYONE! We all have our own unique gifts and talents to share with this world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Experiences from my own travels. I love to cook healthy clean (sometimes Vegan, sometimes not) I play a little guitar and would like to play more, my sarcastic, bright and bubbly personality. And I have an awesome travel buddy now....Bear who I adopted in Mexico. He is a wire haired terrier mix, very friendly with both people and animals, very well behaved and mannered....and he has become an extension of me. Like an arm, he is always attached ;)
