About Me

CURRENT MISSION

figure out my post-grad life

ABOUT ME

I love ice cream, eating, and physical or outdoors activity. I also have a lot of random biology/animal facts as a consequence of being a computational biologist. My politics are very left.

PHILOSOPHY

everything gets better

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed a lot when I was in undergrad, hosted a lot when I was just starting out grad school. These days I'm unable to host as I'm in dissertation crunch mode, but hoping to still surf a little bit and host again one day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

they've been rather fantastic so far, I'd say. Everyone I've met has been incredibly interesting and unbelievably selfless about their time and energy.

Interests

Math, Ice cream, social justice, outdoors - I'm pretty much down for anything on this front except rock climbing, dislocated my shoulders too many times for that :(

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the 2008 Olympics in Beijing

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have a number x that ends with 5, for example 15 or 65, then you can easily figure out what x^2 is; it is just x*(x+1) followed by 25. Hence, 15^2 is 225, and 65^2 is 4225! Neat, eh? If you know any algebra the reason why is not that difficult, but it's still fun trivia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook pretty well, mostly I make Chinese food.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, France, United States
