ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Naveen. I'm a newly minted couchsurfer - though I haven't visited any couches yet. I got bitten by the travel bug while studying abroad in Singapore. Since then I have not had much of a chance to travel globally - I've returned to visit family in India, I've been to the UK, and I've travelled extensively throughout the US (California, Colorado, Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, and all of the Northeast States);
I'm working on making a career out of global travel so I don't have to worry about finding a steady job after I return. Ideally I'd be involved in health care, health IT or health insurance-related work in another country. If you happen to be involved in this area definitely let me know!

Books: I'm convinced Haruki Murakami is a genius.I will read anything, though I prefer fiction.

Movies: Lost in Translation is my all time favorite. Casino Royale, Dumb and Dumber, Crash, Super Troopers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Zoolander, Shawshank Redemption, Avatar, Inception, The Matrix, Jurassic Park, Hook, Most animated disney movies from the 90's except for Pocahontas and Hercules. Zoolander, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Last Samurai, Kung Pao: Enter the Fist, Super Troopers, any Indiana Jones or James Bond movie. I love Lord of the Rings and the original Star Wars trilogy.

Music: Radiohead, incubus, the Strokes and Julian Casablancas, Gorillaz, Blur, Interpol, the Shins, Arctic Monkeys, the Killers, Mutemath, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Beatles, Atmosphere, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Nas, Quantic, Hoobastank, My Bloody Valentine, Zero7, Frou Frou, Arcade Fire, TV On the Radio, lots more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was lying on a bench outside of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at dusk. I happened to be there when they turned on the lights. I was absolutely amazed. AWESOME.

Uh...I know a lot about health care I guess. not medicine...but how insurance works, for example. Other things I am probably better than you at building terrariums, rhyming words and making pizza out of anything.
