About Me

Wow ! Can't believe I first got here in 2010, after I graduated from art school and decided to go on a trip in the US. Years later, here I am, living in Chicago, recently married with the wonderful guy I met during this trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Nick and I are forever grateful that CS exists, it is a wonderful website, and we would like to give it back. Unfortunately, for the moment we cannot really host travellers, but we would be so glad to meet people visiting Chicago, give tips and show them around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed more than I hosted, because my house in Paris was always crowded and busy, and I want to make sure that my guest, whoever it is, feels at home : after a whole day out and about in the city, our friend travellers deserve some rest! I enjoyed the people I couchsurfed with and I hope to follow their example in hosting travelers.

Interests

... extended breakfast mornings, cooking, growing tomatoes and *trying* not to kill my succulents. Arts and craft in the broadest definition, music, animal kingdom, biking, stupid jokes, languages, trying to learn more about history and science but completely unable to memorise any fact or figure, and, if asked, totally crushing it at the double-chin contest.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is getting more and more difficult to define "music you like" : so many interesting artists are mixing genres and influences, i cannot answer that question. I try to stay open and curious to any new thing. My mind is flexible, it goes from supermainstream to deeper mysterious works, as long as there is something soulful in it, being mysterious transy electronic music or oriental music like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

In the visual arts, it is the same : I like naïve and outsider art, and all that seems natural and genuine to me. I also love and admire scientific illustrators, recently discoverd Leopold and Rudolph Blaschkas's glass models from the 1850's, blew my mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

playing with my band les Lapins SuperStars in an almost-empty gas station at 3:00 am, drinking a Guiness with Dublin's lord Mayor, blast funk across the austrian mountains from a chair lift, and basically everything we did with this band...

Teach, Learn, Share

if you are hosting someone it's always good to have some free time to share a drink and some stories, and show your guest what you personally enjoy in your city. A place you really like, a special dish, a joke. Share!
