About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To GO. If you have the slightest inclination to get in touch, do it!

ABOUT ME

I recently quit my job and started a company doing the things I love, working on old cars, motorcycles, making things and generally creating cool objects. It's slow and hard and I'm very poor at the moment but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Kinda techy, kinda hippy, mostly manly, person. I just like to be 'out there', among new people and the weirdness that comes from that.

I'm great at getting on with people and the like, maybe some social engineering at work there (loved Kevin Mitnick's books).

PHILOSOPHY

My aim in this life is to have fun. That's pretty much the ultimate goal here. That said there are always other considerations - learning, making and educating are the main other things on my mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This used to say that 'I'm in a transitional period right now' but I've realised that sometimes life is just one long transitional period, so that made little sense.

I seem to be drawn to working as it gives money and some kind of stability but I really live for the moments where I get to go out and really live, play, move and meet people. I've not got a place I can host at but when I do, I will. I participate by surfing when free and making smiles.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a number of times on different occasions, ranging from motorcycle trips round Europe, to one off weekends in new cities and I'm constantly amazed by the hospitality and kindness of people who were, until a moment ago - strangers.

Interests

With a world this diverse, I can't claim to be into everything, but the things that give me energy to do are:
Socialising and meeting people.
Motorcycles, old cars, loud things.
Learning to make things from metal and other materials.
Making Friends
Keeping firnends

Music, Movies, and Books

Bleh, anything weird. Hunter S Thompson, Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Cory Doctorow.

Science Fiction, post-apocalyptic fiction, alternative living, these are the keywords I look for in books and media.

Music- Ska, Trance, Punk-O-Rama, Rock (many types), many more but there are not many gigs that I would turn down given the opportunity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ages ago, with the scouts, I remember being in the Picos and getting to the summit (or so we thought).

The summit was actually half way up a massive valley and just as we got to the top, the cloud line hit the same point and we saw clouds running into the valley as if it were liquid water.
