About Me

Hey there! My name is Pablo. I'm an engineer/musician from Mexico currently living in La Paz, Baja California Sur.

CURRENT MISSION

Generate a positive impact in our world by building community based principals like sharing, co-creating, inclusion, adaptability, frugality and of course having fun!

Sustrato is my latest endeavor. It's a change agent network that provides fertile ground for projects focused on three principles: personal growth, community strengthening and planetary regeneration; https://sustrato.mx

My last project was converting my house into a Useful Art Residency (www.facebook.com/ResidenciaLaCelula/). Basically it was a project to activate the house as a sustainable residence for artists and social entrepreneurs based on the concept of "Useful Art" (www.arte-util.org).

I'm always seeking new challenges!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently I'm looking for people with cool ideas and projects in the realms of art, social impact and of course music!

Since I first heard about the concept, I fell in love with the sharing and non-commercial roots of CS. Throughout the years I've built some incredible friendships and had some great experiences with my hosts and surfers. My couch has been open in most all the cities that I have lived in (Warsaw, Zurich, Mexico City).

Interests

Environment/Social Art/Entrepreneurship:

For a while I been looking to be part of a transformation, dismantling social, political, environmental and economical paradigms and then co-creating and implement new responses, processes and habits that improve our interactions amongst humans and with the environment.

Music:

One of my early and ongoing loves. It started with rock but expanded to multiple generes including Hip Hop, Electronic, Tropical and so on. I played in a bunch of bands for 20+ years and I try to keep active with new projects as much as possible.

Other interests: Cycling, paddle boarding, photography, traveling (duh), cinema, cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classic Rock, but I listen to a lot of different types of music... The movies I like tend to like depend a lot in the mood/time of my life when I watch them. But I specially enjoy those that make you think and question yourself. Lately I've been reading a lot on sharing economy and social impact.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: Found and kept in touch with friends from all over the planet.
Seen: Many things, specially nature related. I fondly remember swimming between bio-luminescent plankton in Chacagua.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share/Teach: I've been brushing up on my DIY skills, so happy to share them. I can help you fix stuff, specially appliances, computers or electronics. I can share some ideas around living in a less impactful way. I'm also good at guitar and music production, and in some school stuff like chemistry.

I love to share stories over a good meal, either cook it or go out and enjoy it with good company.

Learn: I'm always open to learning new things. I will give my best shot at almost anything at least once.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experiences and my time and of course my house. If you are interested in staying with me, just shoot me a
message/request and tell me more about your current projects/ideas.
