About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get financially stable enough to go full digital nomad, then finding or founding an intentional community somewhere to serve as a home base.

ABOUT ME

If I could choose one word to describe myself, I'd likely be a rather boring person. Among other things, I am Irish, vegetarian, a reasonably good cook, an avid gamer, a little bit of a food/beer/music/cinema snob(but totally fine with differing tastes), often outspoken, fond of language, usually drinking water, taking too many pictures and probably not deleting enough, perpetually curious, environmentally conscious, a pacifist, and an L man. I am also closed minded, negative and I have a terrible sense of humour.

PHILOSOPHY

Look for the silver lining for every cloud, and vice versa.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted heaps in windy Wellington, New Zealand. Good times all around. Then couchsurfed heaps while travelling around the south island of NZ. Met some people and surfed some more in SE Asia and Europe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I ever sent a couch request, I ended up paying rent at the place, so that didn't go exactly according to plan. However, it did turn out to be the coolest place I could have hoped to live in Wellington, and we had some awesome times hosting there. Since then I've surfed a whole bunch and pretty much never had a bad experience. I recommend CS to all my friends.

Once the road called again, I spent a crazy couple of months travelling around NZ's south island, campaigning for the planet, couchsurfing most everywhere I went. Met some great people, had some great times. Looking forward to more of the same in the rest of the world.

Interests

Gaming of most varieties, adventures, music, cinema, technology and SCIENCE(!), politics(unfortunately), freeganism and upcycling, martial arts, photography, walking in/to/around places, surreality & whimsy, food, drink, sunshine, moonlight, good times, boogie.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything and everything. I could list off dozens of each, but that'd only be a fraction of what I'm in to. I love hearing/seeing other people's tastes and discovering new things. As I type this, the last music I listened to was Saul Williams, the last film was Avengers(hey, popcorn trash can be fun too) and the last book I read(not for work) was Phoenix in Obsidian. I like these things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A 100 metre abseil into a massive limestone cave system, working my way along an underground river, climbing waterfalls, jumping into pools of pitch blackness and wading through massive glow worm caverns all the way through until I hit daylight was definitely a standout.

Teach, Learn, Share

Computers are my thing. I can fix almost any tech problem. I'd sometimes get calls from people I barely knew asking me for tech support. I also have a fairly encyclopedic knowledge of videogames, which is a super useful skill to have in all aspects of life. I also consider myself kind of a pioneer of the palette. A restaurateur, if you will. Love to cook, love good food. I can show you some of my ways.

Eager to learn whatever you've got.
