About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i wanna encourage people who seek the happiness and joy that comes with knowing who you are and living this life true to your own dreams, amongst this somewhat screwed up contemporary world of ours.....my dream is to live with others who believe this also

ABOUT ME

after a long journey to get some understanding of life i decided to quit my career ten years ago and live true to my spirit instead, as a kid i would build cubby houses in the forest and dream of living a life to my own standards...i think i am doing that now as, i not only do what i want, but i also provide accommodation to travellers in a fairly different and unique environment...i am living my dreams, and amongst it all i am keen to share it with others....most people find me easy to get along with....but it has got to be remembered that i do have a business to run which can be very demanding and will preoccupy me at times....amongst it all i can be very private

PHILOSOPHY

"every thing is perfect and nothing matters"....a hard philosophy to live as some things do come along which piss me off a bit, but i try have a level of acceptance higher every time...our family is our Goddess, with our children to show us the way

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

many have surfed my couch, but so far i have been limited to visits with people i have met personally....i do get a few opportunities as i run a backpackers....i have couchsurfed in a tent organised by boomerang art on kauai in hawaii...he is a bit of a legend there and an amazing host, i can't wait to get back there....since joining couchsurfing i have met some amazing people who have come by here

Interests

spirituality, music (drums in particular), arts, crafts, building, just love cooking, people, philosophy, shamanism, camping, beaches, loving....fortunately most of these things are possible within my biggest interest of providing accommodation for those people travelling the world....and all the time will use any opportunity to stimulate or provoke those i meet in to finding out who they really are and challenging them to live true to that spirit (an interest or a mission or an egotistical obsession???)....after going to burning man 2005, i am now infected with that bug and am doing my best to reflect it in my life and all i do

Music, Movies, and Books

Ghandi, fight club, blues brothers, motorcycle diaries, kundun, club paradise, bob marley, dave matthews band, jack johnson, ben harper, morcheeba, john butler trio, massive attack, mazzie star, dead can dance, pink floyd, u2, nessa morgan, michelle shocked....(i have always dreamed of having a cafe, so i built one on the back of my house, it's called "wildducks cafe" and....it includes a wicked sound system and dvd movie facility so we all can indulge lots of cd and dvd music and movies)...amongst the books i love siddharta, the physician, autobiography of a spiritually incorrect mystic - osho, alchemist(all paulo coelho), carlos castanedas, paul theroux, yashar kemal, shakti barnhill and more recently seem to know heaps of people who have written books and love reading those accounts of life familiar to me

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i spent christmas eve 1974 in a toilet with four friends in darwin as cyclone tracy totally destroyed our house....it was all very real, although the lsd trips we had all taken added an interesting dimension to that night!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

i was manager, staff training and development, with a large government department, so i have substantial and diverse experience in that field...as for now...i have comprehensive building and handyperson skills which i can share...all the time developing some spiritual understandings that seem to have value to others when shared...i love giving and receiving spiritual inspiration
