About Me
CURRENT MISSION
learn languages, musics and food of people everywhere. forge connections, be flexible, live fully. LAUGH and make SOUND!
ABOUT ME
I'm stir-crazy and ready to learn about pretty much anything. I'm always up for creative conversation and am at ease meeting new people. I love music but don't get to play it enough. I have a great office job that's a horrible fit for me. I study yoga. I'm going to the peace corps to teach English in tanzania. Once, somebody snuck me into a building inside of a keyboard case.
PHILOSOPHY
Accept the fool that you are. - T.S. Eliot
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now my housing situation is in flux, so hosting isn't totally in the cards, but I'm trying to get more future couch surf guest dates lined up. I've used it traveling in Colombia and California, and I've hosted in Italy. I first heard about couchsurfing when I met an au pair in germany at a hostel who became my 3-day weekend drinking buddy. Sounded like an awesome idea, so I joined.
Briefly after that, I met an american backpacker stranded in a train station outside of venice because his wallet had been stolen and a ticket taker kicked him off his train for not having a ticket. Almost every train had left for the night, except the one I was getting on. He didn't know how he was going to make it to Venice without any money, and he was kicked off just three cities away. I brought him back to Bologna and he couchsurfed at my place for a week until he could get his banking and citizenship documents all straightened out. He celebrated birthdays, going away parties, and festive dinners with me and my housemates the week he stayed. We're still friends. Awesome introduction to the CS community.
I also host people at my house informally beyond couchsurf all the time, because I am a firm believer in sharing my space with wayfarers. Come one, come all.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met a couchsurfer in Berlin in 2009 who sold me on the project. Couchsurfed in the California Coast in 2012, Colombia in 2013, and looking to add more to the list. I've been around a lot of couchsurfing hosts and guests through the years, and dig the exchange.

El Parque Nacional Natural El Cocuy in Colombia. Tallest elevation hike I've ever done, and Ayahuasca.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy meeting and learning from anyone who can teach, learn, or share things. Things I can share: trying new stuff, stories, conversation, drinks, food, walks/runs/bikerides. I don't love condescension in teaching, but sometimes it just happens...
