About Me

Hi! Moved from Croatia to Edinburgh for uni and graduated in Philosophy and Psychology which I still enjoy and engage with. Currently working in widening participation and also undergoing training in psychodynamic counselling. Hoping to continue working with young people within a mental health setting. Otherwise I'm a pretty wholesome granny that owns a cat, likes to do gardening, board games, pottery, baking, yoga, and as of recently, poetry.

Interests

My hobbies include but are not limited to cluttering my room with plants, failing at sourdough, playing with clay, sucking at climbing, hiking twice per year, some wannabe yoga (basically just headstands), longboarding to work and back, adding stuff to myanimelist, name-calling my cat (super fat, she deserves it), filming videos about inside jokes and making plans to edit them, getting drunk at home and jotting down my childhood memories (kind of like Proust but better).

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite like pretentious hipster movies. Names like Lynch, Linklater, and von Trier, but also going back to my roots by getting into old Yugoslavian movies recently like Kusturica.

Books-wise I'm a very pragmatic reader. So more often than not I'll choose to read non-fiction rather than fiction. Always feel like I have a ton more to learn about mental health/philosophy/psychology so those things feature quite a lot. Otherwise, I really enjoy existentialism and 20th century European classics and some modern Japanese literature.

I only recently got into listening music while walking again, but overall I prefer fairly calm background music, which works best if it's without vocals or in a language I don't understand. I'm also pretty bad at finding new stuff so I usually get stuck in 2 year cycles. I've been digging French dream pop for a while now so I guess that's my jam at the moment.
