About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore. Keep on Exploring. Live. Keep on Exploring Life.

ABOUT ME

I am zsombor, pronounced like the French "Jean" and the English "Boar."

You can only see me as you are, and I only see myself as I am, so who am I really?

PHILOSOPHY

"nosce te ipsum"

"The only Zen you find on the top of a mountain, is the Zen you bring there."

"The safest place where you will ever be is the Present Moment" - my Brother

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to help out fellow travelers (whenever I have a place to host them) and when I am on the road I want to get connected to the local culture through the people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have CS experience from both sides of the couch, as a host and as a guest as well, and I love it so far.

Interests

I'm interested in many aspects of life, frankly I really enjoy discovering and experience new perspectives so I decide for myself whether I like/dislike it.

If it's about the movement of our body then Yoga, climbing, dancing

If it's about the movement of our thoughts then painting, multimedia arts, installations, philosophy, interdisciplinary fields, science (mostly physics), literature... I could name a few more probably but now I think you got it, right?

If it's movement of life then photography, movies, acting and cultures

Yoga: I teach it and do it as well (I really like to do both)

Also any kind of climbing, preferably outdoor rock climbing but indoor boulder is usually easier to find.

When I was young and foolish I used to compete in mixed martial artst but now I'm done with that

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors, thinkers, writers:

J. Krishnamurti; Swami Vivekananda; Krishnamacharya; Ken Wilber; Cormac McCarthy; Woody Allen; Wass Albert; Matsuo Basho; Alexander Weöres; Bela Hamvas; Sacha Baron Cohen

Music: nearly any kind, from classical to alternative (depends on my mood)

Movies:
Tree of Life; The Fountain; Borat; Brüno; Interview with the Vampire Watchmen; Walk the Line; Babel; Vicky, Christina, Barcelona; Mala educacion; Pulp Fiction; Machete; The Other guys; Samsara; Brian's life

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Camino de Santiago- I could write a whole book about it, and of course some people already have, but everybody is going to find what they brought with themselves, and you never really know what you've brought in your backpack....

Or my recent trip to the indian Himalaya, Ladakh, where I volunteered or my later advetnures in mainland India. Or the ones that came after... the way you and I met, I will definitely tell that story to the other Surfers :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Share my stories about traveling and life, listen to you sharing your stories and point of view.

There are so many things I want and will learn e.g. playing piano, guitar, new languages (current project is french), creative writing...etc. (I could go on with this 4ever)

I can teach yoga, cooking (I love to eat, so I have to know how to cook good food) and some languages, or how to travel in India (that's a tough one)

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Australia, Austria, China, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, Myanmar, Philippines, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Hungary, Spain, Taiwan
