ABOUT ME

Hello hello! I'm Jaki, originally from The Isle of Skye up in the north-west of Scotland..beauutiful beautiful beautiful place, but doesn't have so much to offer in the way of excitement! Lived in Glasgow for about three years, studied childcare then went over to Amsterdam to try out Au Pairing. Stayed for a year there then ended up in Dublin. Currently trying to decide what I should do with my life, and hopefully meet some more crazies and legends along the way.
At the moment I'm running a Youth Hostel on my home island of Skye.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't think life should be about stress and worrying about how much money is in the bank or whatever. I wanna live my life as much as I can, I wanna see things that make me happy, meet people that make me happy and hopefully make people happy in return. I don't like to take myself too seriously, what is the point?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I wanna meet up with new people, see new faces, learn about different cultures and try to possibly give people something back in return! At the moment (due to my work accommodation situation) I can't normally participate in the way of hosting but other than that, I'm hoping to meet up and hang out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have surfed more than I've hosted, but try to do both. While in Amsterdam I went to loads of meetups and met some amazing people. Plenty of good times were had, and loads more to come hopefully!

Interests

I love seeing new places, meeting new people, i enjoy to partake in the consumption of alcohol beverage on ocassion... and I like to take photos. Check out my flickr on www.flickr.com/jaclesac. I'm fairly easy to please. Interesting people interest me. I love people with stories to tell. I enjoy people with a sense of humour, and who don't take themselves too seriously. Recently bought a guitar so been trying to give that a go, and getting on quite well! Don't expect to see me selling out arenas any time soon, but maybe one day I will master a song or two...

Music, Movies, and Books

Ah, music. Listening to music constantly, I like a rather random mix of stuff. Favourites are Neil Young, Bon Iver, Doors, Nirvana, Pixies, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure, Ben Howard, M83, Joy Division, The National. Listen to a big mumble jumble of stuff from the 70s, 80s, 90s and more recent stuff too. Don't think I would cope without music! Don't watch much TV, but got hooked on Breaking Bad and loved that. Open to any recommendations for something to top that!
