About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Turning a house into a home.

ABOUT ME

My husband (Victor) and I are fun loving yet responsible people. We love visiting with friends and entertaining as well as playing with our dogs, going to the park, reading and listening to music. We also love meeting new people and learning about the world.

You can have a look at my blogs http://thisonebutterfly.wordpress.com or http://southafricansunsets.wordpress.com .

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as they ought to be treated so that you can help them become what they are capable of being.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We want to host people in order to show them a welcoming and informed/interesting side of Johannesburg. It is a stunning, diverse city with so much to offer in terms of experiences and cultural enrichment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have loved the experience thus far. The people we have hosted to date have been lovely. It is always great to see your city and country through someone else's eyes. Our guests were wonderful and it was a pleasure meeting and hosting them.

A friend of ours has hosted people and loved the people she met.

Another friend of mine always wants to know when my next guests are coming so that he can also meet them and share in the experience with us.

Teach, Learn, Share

Johannesburg is a city of ambition and people. We work incredibly hard here since every deadline is for 'yesterday' and everyone wants exceptional service.

Because we work hard we also play hard. We visit with friends or family every weekend, we go clubbing or to pubs, we love the theatre and music concerts. We go extreme sporting over the weekend or to smaller towns close by to get away from it all but then love it even more when we get back.

JHB is vast and diverse and offers something for everyone. You can live in the bustling inner city or our village-like suburbia. Even though things can be a bit tough we are all still typically South African and happy to welcome anyone into our hometown.

As the Lonely Planet put it, missing an opportunity to visit Jo'burg is missing an opportunity to find out what makes South Africa tick.

We live and love in this city and wouldn't want it any other way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Respectful guests who can share information on our beautiful, diverse country as well as the other places we've travelled to. We would be happy to cook a South Africa meal or two
