About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make it count.

ABOUT ME

Humour is the most important thing to me. I like to laugh and make other people laugh.

A friend once asked me to look back at my life and name the moments I was happiest. And all of them were when I have been with good friends. If I could find a way to gather all my friends - that are spread around the world - in one place to live there with me, I would be the happiest person in the world. Until that happens I have to make more little moments of happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was very involved in the CS Community in Melbourne. I organised a few activities and took part in many more.
Melbourne's CS Community changed my life and I want everyone to feel happy and welcomed with CS!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I`ve read all this great experiences from other CS members, before I actually started doing CouchSurfing.
And now guess what?!
I had great experiences with CouchSurfing too!

The common CouchSurfer is usually open-minded and interested in travelling. So thats at least two things you can work with.
If you really connect with your host/guest/travel mate you can learn something about their life, experiences and personality. Every encounter will leave a mark on your personality as well.

One of the best experiences I had was the CS Bush party near Perth. I hurled myself into a whole bunch of total strangers and had a fantastic night! Not just that I made good friends, in retrospect I also discovered some kind of self-confidence!

But what really changed my life was the CS Community in Melbourne. I love Melbourne and its people. I`ve met such awesome people, I was and still am really heartbroken that I had to leave them. I was incredibly happy in Melbourne.
You meet residents and locals over and over again so you can actually build up a social circle that will be a big part of your life. To everyone who is new in Melbourne I advise: Go get active in the community and your life will change :D

Interests

Well, my hardcore travel days are over for now, but hey! Germany is pretty beautiful too.

I like to hang out with family and friends and go explore Europe. I'd like to hang out with English speaking people so you're welcome to get in touch!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess the most amazing thing I have done so far is the Everest Base Camp Trek. I`m not in the best shape and I wanted to give up a couple of times. But I pushed it through and made it to the Base Camp!
I was going through hell most of the time, but it was totally worth it at the end! It`s just the most amazing scenery up there and a real challenge for the body.

Another highlight was Karijini National Park in Western Australia, where three gorges meet and you can trek and do an amazingly exciting spider-walk to get to a breathtaking water cave.
Also climbing up and walking to the middle of Uluru was amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

First of all: never make a spontaneous decision based on current emotions!

---

All the gorilla camping in Australia was quite useful for my self-development.
I tend to be overly worried sometimes. Finding a place in the cold dark, somewhere hidden in an Australian bush (or industrial area), sharing the place with all kinds of insects/animals, sneaking out before dawn, hoping not to get caught by rangers, paying a high fine, maybe losing the car... it has cost me quite an effort to overcome my concerns.
As you can imagine it was quite nerve-wrecking at the time, but at the end it all went well and helped me to change my attitude.

I`ve learned to stop thinking too much, being overly worried. I mean, what could have happened? To be realistic, the worst thing in the case of getting caught by a ranger would have been to take the tent down in the middle of the night and get a fine. well, it`s a pain in the ass but at the end it`s "just" money.
I can`t understand anymore what I was always afraid of (yeah, of course we also could have accidentally run into a mass murderer or into wild/dangerous/poisonous animals. but... come on, what are the chances?!).
