About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life. Why not?

ABOUT ME

Well well, it's a lot about me (lying, I'm not that interesting :P ). First I need to say, after people always keep telling me I talk a lot about it, I love, but really, really love Buenos Aires (and Argentina), I think is a marvelous city, and I have a lot of people I care that think exactly the same, lucky me for living here. I enjoy her (I like to talk about it as a person :P) parks, museums, cultural places, as well as bars, restaurants, etc. But mostly, I love the people here, Yeah, we have a lot of defects, but we are passionate people that, I personally believe, love life as we live it...As me as person, I could say that I'm a very easy guy :P (don't think bad). I really don't mind much for anything (that is sometimes a problem), It's very hard to see me angry or annoyed. Although sometimes I can get a little bit gloomy and silent, that happens, maybe I'm only thinking things that don't worth to think about, or sad (that is less frequent), or whatever, sometimes I don't know quite sure how to describe the mood, or why I am that way. Anyway, I don't mind to be "bothered" or "talked to" in those times, just don't get angry if I don't pay so much attention to you, hahaha. But the most of the time I'm very lively I believe :P(And it's really hard to describe oneself, I'm going to take a rest from that for the moment :P)(I will continue later, and I will write my spanish descrpition soon)

PHILOSOPHY

...Hard question... (specially for a form box in a website)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting everytime I can...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

Reading, Music, and arts in general... (I like more modern art I think, but always up to everything) Yôga (SwáSthya), Football (soccer for the states people), have fun with friends (and why not some beers, wine or anything else between us), annoy people I care (in the good way, with love and affection, and a little bit of irony too :P)I like to cook, to eat, and to drink (wine specially, hehe) and I love to try new things, and cook for other people too. Would be very nice if you like to cook too to share recipes and traditional dishes :)

I play the keyboard and at home there are some others instruments (cajón, guitar, other percussive) so if you are a musician and want to come and jam, I would love to. I also have a band and we normally rehearsal some day of the weekend, so if you stay here you will be invited to join us, for listening or participating, as you wish ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I enjoy european and asian movies a lot, as well as argentinian. (I don't know much about other latinamerican films industries, despite a couple of movies from Mexico and Brazil) Kar Wai Wong, the Dardennes, I believe are my favourite directors, but I really like to watch new things. Also love classics from Nouvelle vague directors such as Godard, Resnais, Truffart, Chabrol, etc. I'm particularly in debt with my knowledge in spanish works, sorry. Not much of a fan of Hollywood's movies, I can watch them, but they usually don't drive me crazy.

Music: Fan of progressive rock. Pink Floyd is my favourite band I would say, but there's a lot more than I really enjoy to listen to, as well rock bands from the 60s. I also like jazz, practically in all its forms, and academic composers mostly moderns ones (such as Varese, Bartok, Ligeti, Ginastera, etc). And I'm getting more open-minded about music, I "discovered" in last time with Air the "Electronic Music" (ok, I know for a real electronic music fan, that is not electronic music, but for old school rocks fans like me sounds kind of a little like that :P) a genre than five years ago I was close to despite, hehe and I can say is one of my favourites now, I really hope to watch them live in Europe.

Books: I like narrative literature and above all I love argentinian writers such as Borges, Cortázar, Sábato, Bioy Casares and Mujica Láinez. Undoubtly Cortazar's Rayuela is the best novel I've ever read, and Borges' short stories the most amazing ones too. Big fan of Milan Kundera, Carlos Fuentes, García Márquez and Jorge Amado too. Essays and poetry I like to read as well, but never with the same enthusiasm that narrative. And of course I have to read lot more though (the "to read" lists are not nice, specially cause they only grow bigger and bigger, hehe), I hope to get time to these next years. Just bought James Joyce's Ulysses in english in Dublin, so that's kind of my new challenge now :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Still wandering what to write in here...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a couple of dishes I know to prepare. I can teach spanish as well, but is not guaranteed me being a good teacher :P And I can teach some yoga I think (I would really like if you ask for this last one, cause I'm practicing so little lately that would be great for my body as well, haha) And if you like I can show you around here in my city, I'm not saying that I'm an expert in the field, but after 26 years living here I should have learnt something about her :P

This week I want to learn to play the violin, but for sure next one I'm going to want to learn something else. So just tell me what you know and let see :P

I can share all my love and cheerfulness :P kidding... Well I can share my thoughts, my music, the things that are travelling or living with me of course, and my delightful presence :P (sorry again)
