About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We are on tour, sharing Jonathan Brinkley's music once again. This time all over the U.S. until the fall of 2018!

ABOUT ME

Jonathan and I traveled Europe in Summer 2011 on a House Concert Tour where I organized concerts in CS's homes. We are delighted to be traveling again, this time throughout the U.S. We are traveling with our boy, born January 2015, infiltrating his experience with a live musical lifestyle and the wonder of being on the road. What a beautiful and rich experience! It is our mission to engage in authentic connection and actively help to create a human culture that is based on honesty, empathy and vision through Jonathan's music paired up with a Solsara workshop based mainly in experiential practices, exploring what it is to be human together. Since the birth of my son, my favorite pastimes are a little more down-to-earth. I love to cook! Other past times include roller-skating and this has translated in many ways throughout my adult life: mingling with others, dancing, sitting in the sun, and creating sculpture that speaks of fluidity, buoyancy, and etherealness. It's great to be alive.

PHILOSOPHY

Explore what you love, take risks and inquire where you are holding back, with compassion. Share your love-- it is infinite and actually multiplies as you send it out in the world. Be honest and admit when you are having a hard time doing that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

To share our gifts throughout the CS community

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled via camper van throughout Europe the Summer of 2011 with companion and musician Jonathan Brinkley (CS name is Songmaker). He played for intimate crowds of CSers, their friends and family from Sicily all the way to Copenhagen and from the Czech Republic all the way to Bordeaux. When we were not camping in the van we stayed with our concert hosts in big cities and little villages. We followed the interest in the music and landed in places tourists would not think to go. This allowed us to see small towns tucked away in hillsides or little abodes peppered throughout corn fields and vineyards. A few of the remarkable places we landed were Alta Villa a town in the hills of Palermo, Sicily, Bari, Vicenza and Friuli, Italy, a tiny rocky village in the Loire region of France where Jonathan performed in an old Schoolhouse and Bordeaux was certainly a surprise ending...we had no idea Bordeaux was so diverse, a large city and we were met with young new friends ready to play, laugh, and meander through the city night and day. My heart is full and I am ready for new experiences within this couchsurfing community!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies-nah. Music: anything capable of taking me on a journey to unfamiliar territory, allowing me to forget who I am or think I might be. Pink Floyd did this for me as a late teen and I still think their music is timeless. Currently, I'm totally into various types of EDM and kirtan along with Jonathan Brinkley's music. Books most recently: seeking out compassionate parenting books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once decided to stop judging everything around me, including myself. The world opened up and became completely new, swallowing me whole, digesting my idea of myself, so complicated and debilitating. I still don't know what to think and I find myself welcoming the unknown. There is a certain amount of giddiness here.

Teach, Learn, Share

Solsara: the Practice of Opening. I could teach Ceramics too!: hand-building, wheel-throwing. Connection: connection intimately and honestly with others and ourselves. I would love to learn how to sew, grow food more efficiently, build earthen structures, speak Spanish and Italian, juggle, play the piano, guitar, and sing in harmony fluidly
