About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Uttering sentences that were never said before.

ABOUT ME

I change the "about me" section every few years. Does that mean there is no I? Am I the Buddha?! Probably not. I enjoy life's fluidity, inconsistency, interchangeability, eternal flow. I don't like the idea of being stuck in the same mindset or the same place for too long. Every moment of connection is precious, not unlike Gollum's ring.
I grew up in the north of Israel, then moved to Jerusalem for 8 years, and now (mid-2019) started a new chapter in Tel Aviv. Wish me luck and come join me :)

PHILOSOPHY

Your mind is not You. You realize it perfectly when you hit your small toe in a heavy piece of furniture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting on and off on this profile and other profiles (flat mates, ex-girlfriend) since 2011.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

People are strange, and I like it. I met the most interesting people while hosting in the last few years, and in 2018 I had the opportunity to surf for a few months on other people's couches during a trip in Europe. Nowhere did I enjoy more than in places I couchsurfed. The people of a place are much more interesting than the place itself.

Interests

I like to travel all over, I like to read, write, talk to strangers (if they are willing to), talk to friends, sleep, day-dream, share new ideas, watch movies, swim, ride a bike, learning new words and constructs in forsaken languages and of course cook and eat

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite movies: Big Lebowski, Borat, clockwork orange, No land for old man, City of God, Requiem for a Dream, pulp fiction, Forest Gump, fried green tomatoes, apocalypse now, Edward Scissorhands, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Citizen Kane... any insightful or hilariuos movie.

Favorite music: mainly all rock genres, except super heavy metal. I love Pink Floyd, Tool, Metallica, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, System of a Down, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Simon & Garfunkel, Infected Mushroom, Muse, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Porcupine Tree... I also like guitar artists, like Estas Tonne, Paco De Lucia, Al Di Meola... And of course, Israeli music, which I'll be happy to share with you.

Favorite books: books by Franz Kafka, Jose Saramago, George Orwell, Shai Agnon (Israeli Nobel price winner), Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Dostoyevsky, Anton Chekhov, Thomas Mann. I really loved Catch-22, La Storia by Elsa Morante, and the list is long.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most amazing expirience is travelling in South-America for 8 months.
The most amazing thing I did there is volunteering in a park in the Bolivian Jungle with wild cats, jaguars, pumas etc, and also monkeys, birds and others. Every day for an entire month I walked about 8 hours a day with a 120 kg jaguar named Rupi, in the amazing jungle. An experience worth talking about more than write about

Teach, Learn, Share

The most basic thing I can teach is Hebrew and stuff about Judaism... I like to cook and learn new recipes. Recently I am also very interested in meditation, breathing excercises and laughter yoga, so we can have a common glance at those things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Serbia, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
