About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Convince people that toast tastes better when cut in triangles.
ABOUT ME
I've decided that I'm here on this earth to have fun. I love exploring new places, eating new foods, and trying to immerse myself in whatever culture I am in (which is why I speak France french, and not Québecois).
Back home, you may find me cruising around the foothills, or hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Maybe I'll be out fly fishing with my dad, or cooking up a feast for a group of friends.
If it's cold (and the winters here are looooonnnnggg...), I'll be curled up at my favorite café (Beano) with a macchiato (or two) and my favorite book. Maybe I'll be busking down in Kensington, or trying to skate my best time on the worlds fastest ice (The Olympic Oval). If you still haven't found me, check down by the river, I'm probably walking along the bank, or I'm enjoying one of the many city vistas that Calgary has to offer.
And if you still haven't found me, I'm probably showing some awesome couchsurfers around the town that I love to call home.
I'm also really good at writing run-on sentences...
Finally, I know what it's like to be traveling last minute - it can be hard to write a great couch request for every different host. I don't mind if you send me a "copy/paste" request, but just be sure to put "Fish fish fish" as the subject, or somewhere in the message so that I know that at least you've read my profile, and actually want to stay with me. Of course, if you have the time to write a great request, it will be much appreciated.
PHILOSOPHY
I am the creator of my own reality.
Everything I ever have been, am now, and ever will be, is a result of what I have thought. And in life I always look towards three things - Freedom, Growth, and Joy
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm looking forward to welcoming travelers into my own home, and sharing my love for my city, country, and culture with them!
I have spent four and a half months surfing in Europe, which has only inspired me to open up my own place!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed around Europe (France, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Greece, and England) for four and a half months. I can't believe the people I have met - This community is incredible! Every single host was wonderfully different, and totally opened up their lives to me, allowing me to do a trip that nobody else could even start to replicate.
Everywhere I have been people have been so welcoming, and so friendly! I truly feel like I am among family when I'm surfing! I think that I might like to someday become a CS ambassador, we'll see...
Interests
I am fairly involved in the Search and Rescue community in Calgary, and I am just wrapping up my EMS education. I am passionate about rescue, communications, EMS, and patient care.
I love the arts. Music, painting, photography, dance, film, sculpture - if somebody is passionate about what they are doing, I can't wait to experience it!
I really like playing paintball, squash, skiing and speed skating. I love cooking and baking - nothing beats the smell of fresh baked bread!
I am really looking forward to discovering new interests through travel, and experiencing new things that I wouldn't be able to here!

Music, Movies, and Books
Jazz baby! Particularly the bebop era, west coast jazz, and now the modern big band music. The saxophone would be my favorite instrument, but few things beat out a good jazz guitar! Bands / Artists may include: Metric, Eddie Vedder, Breaking Benjamin, John Williams, Exterio, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Bob Mintzer, Joshua Redman, some Linkin Park, Tom Waits, Panic! At the Disco, Yann Tiersen, the list goes on...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Done: This probably wont sound like much, but I formed and led a jazz quartet for three years in high school. We started off as just a little pick-up band, barely knowing how to play our instruments - but by the end, we were playing at weddings, jazz clubs, and even on TV!
Seen: So, you're climbing up a mountain, and you're so close to the top, and you're getting tired, and the wind is really starting to pick up, and it's getting cold, and you're getting really tired, and then... you reach that final step where the whole valley below you opens up on the other side of the mountain, and there lay the glacier filled valleys, and the dark pine trees, with the water of lakes and streams shimmering in the distance - all your fatigue and cold forgotten. And you reach for words, but neither of you can say anything...
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach a bit about photography, or offer a (perhaps odd) perspective on music. I could maybe offer up some basic help with french.
I would love to learn more languages. That's why I travel.
I love to share cooking experiences with ANYBODY!! Lets eat.
