About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore and share the explored!

ABOUT ME

I like diversity therefore I also look for discovering something all the time. There are plenty of things to be learned: listening to others and exploring places are a way I like to do it. In all that there is always something fascinating to be learned from people living in remote, isolated places.
I like to take things easy and seriously enough only when is necessary.
The outdoor activities I like are strongly linked to photography, nature, mountain climbing and cycling. And sharing those experiences with others. I like maps and at some extent creating maps.
Otherwise I like to experiment with cooking, I know a couple of things about wines. I am discovering oriental food, I like seafood. And it feels good to have a licorice in the pocket.
Short films, musicals, exhibitions, board games... all welcome.

PHILOSOPHY

* "If there is a will, there is a way"
* "What makes the desert beautiful, is that somewhere it hides a well."

Bands that I recently listen to are Of Monsters And Men, Arcade Fire, Beirut, Bon Iver, Cults, Einar Stray, Feldberg,Seabear, Rich Aucoin, Sin Fang, Sóley, Útidur, Wye Oak
When in a different mood I mostly listen to blues, funk, etno-funk, jazz, rock of the 60s-70s; in detail in no partciular order - The James Taylor Quartet, The Fantastics!, Maceo Parker, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Nightloosers, Saban Bajramovic, Ghymes, K.T Tunstall, Marvellous Pig Noise, Yann Tiersen, Sting, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, Quimby, Hobo Blues Band, Nightwish, Coldplay, Helios, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering and living on a remote Icelandic farm for two weeks

Experiencing 4 seasons in one day on the top of a mountain (see http://bit.ly/dWVvEs)

Glacier walk in Norway (see http://bit.ly/fjizZq)

Travelling through Northern Scandinavia for 16 days in continuous daylight

On the down side:
A "challenging" 40 hours, continuous bus trip across Europe because of flight cancellations due to volcanic eruption in Iceland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd rather say in this order: learn-share-teach.

I would like to learn playing a musical instrument properly. A blues harp for instance.

I can share some knowledge I have, from the top of my head: making a good mulled wine, cooking a Transylvanian/Hungarian chicken-paprikás, principles of photography and enhancing your photos in a digital darkroom, building your own map for your trekking GPS - for the more technically minded and outdoor liking people...
