About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a new home in Berlin...

ABOUT ME

I am Inma, from Spain. I live in Berlin since September 2009 and I don't know why :) I guess it's a city that absorbes you so much and you can't escape from it.
My story: My plans were to come as Au Pair, but I didn't like it so I started studying in a Master just to try something new. Since I had to stay for at least 2 years, I needed to find a temporary job, but I didn't like it so much, so I looked for a better job to do while a finish my studies.
The thing is... now I am studying something I like and working in a job I like also... and nothing of this was planned. Let´s call it destiny or casuality, but because of this I am here and I am enjoying it so much as I can.
So what can I say about me? I like discovering. Discovering new cities and cultures, personalities, experiences, stories, discovering myself through the eyes of other persons... I think we are here to discover and learn. They only thing we get at the end is the experience.
People says about me that I am curious, stubborn and passionate... I think they are right.

PHILOSOPHY

"Todo lo que sucede una vez puede que no suceda nunca más, pero todo lo que sucede dos veces, sucederá, ciertamente, una tercera." Paulo Coelho
"Vivir juntos, morir solos." Lost
"No es la necesidad, sino la casualidad, la que está llena de encantos. Si el amor debe ser inolvidable, las casualidades deben volar hacia él desde el primer momento." Milan Kundera
"Lo hermoso del desierto es que en cualquier parte esconde un pozo." El Principito

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I attend to many events in Berlin... Meeting, parties, festivals, dinners... I even invited everybody in CS when I celebrated my birthday and it was awesome!
About hosting, I didn't host anybody yet (I hope I will do it soon) and I just had my first experience beeing hosted in Istanbul in July from my dear Rezman :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS people are a great support for me in Berlin. Someone living abroad without the family and friends needs such people like CSers, cause they always have a smile for you and a crazy plan to do together. That's amazing.

Interests

My two passions are travels and languages, and everything it involves.
I would love to meet Arabic speakers so I can practice my language skills before I forget everything, but I also want to learn many languages so it would be great if you wanna teach me yours :D
I love cooking, eating (indian food, lebanese, chocolate, ice cream), any kind of tea (specially black tea), hearing music, dancing (anything except techno), walking around crowed streets and markets, seeing the sunset at any rare place, making people laugh and hearing original life stories.
I love the Arabic culture. I recently started to discover the Turkish culture as well and its fascinating. I would like to have the chance for knowing the Indian culture soon.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read everything I get in my hands. I love latin music (specially to dance), arabic music, balkan music, reggae... and I don´t like electronic/techno/house at all. And I like horror movies and nice comedies also. Series are like a drug for me :D Lost (the best serie ever), Heroes, Prision Break, Dexter, Lie to me, Desperate Housewifes, House M.D., Grey's Anatomy...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most amazing experience was beeing living in Egypt for a while. My dream is to stay there for ever. I am sure in my other life I was an Egyptian :D I felt confortable in the country since I was arriving on the plane. I will never forget that feeling of arriving to Egypt, seeing the river Nile, the beautiful green lights of the mosques and the pyramids. I never had homesickness when I was there and felt like if I knew the country since I was born... A romantic dinner on the Nile, a Sunset beside the Red Sea in the New Years Eve, walking in the Sinai mountains, sleeping in the middle of the desert, feeling the rain of Alexandria in my face... these are all experiences I will never forget and would like to repeat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish, I enjoy teaching a lot! Maybe you can help me in any other way: cooking new dishes for me or helping me to improve my Arabic or Turkish.
