About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life is short. Just live my own life.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Tokyo.
After a lot of travel and living in Okinawa for a while now I got back to Tokyo and enjoy my new life here with my husband and Momo, shiba-dog!

*** As I am not interested in dating with other guys, please do not send me a message if you just want to go on a date (Offer for guide, sharing knowledge and good story over beer is welcome)***

Basically I'm curious, laid-back, sometimes cynical. I think I am Outgoing-Introvert. I absolutely would be by myself at home and read good books rather than going parties full of people. But on the other hand, I love to see and share the stories with people who has an interesting experience. That's why I am on Couchsurfing.

I traveled a lot as a backpacker.
When I am in new town, I would walk around and seek something intriguing in the place, browsing bookshops or markets, find someone local to chat.
Often I would find so many new things to try that make me confused. Too many amazing things out there to do in the world!

I believe that healthy body & mind comes first to live happy life and think what makes my body is food I consume and how I live, so I always try to do my best to eat healthy and doing everyday light keep-fit :)
(Modest amount of whiskey and wine are precious tools for happy times though!)

And love to stay mobile and live with simple stuffs made from nature and try to avoid using toxic stuffs as possible as I can.
I love this way to live because it's very reasonable, besides good not only for me but for the earth!

PHILOSOPHY

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. – Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking forward to experience what I have never done all over the world and hear people's stories about experience on the road, philosophy, and any interesting topics.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

"Cavesurfing" at Gassab's cave in Petra! It was unforgettable moment.

And stayed at Stephan's pretty home with garden full of organic products. In some way, I learned how people should live in natural and sustainable way.

Interests

Traveling and walking around towns like locals by myself.
(I don't like a over-touristic place)

But also love to explore and being laid back at ruins, temples, and old towns... any other historical places.
Reporting any funny and impressive topics through my blog or facebook is my life's work. I want much more people to know how the world is big, diverse, and interesting.

Not only to be fit, I do love to cook everything I love to eat by myself!
From homemade focaccia to beef hamburger, creamy Hummus, Israeli staple Shakusuka...
I gave a shot a ton of times.
Unfortunately I am not a good cook by nature, but I eager to try to make
scrumptious dishes with whole foods, without additives as possible as I can.

And I love
movie, music, books, seeing art (impressionist, Savignac, Russian avant-garde, Photos) chatting with my (a few) friends over good drinks, thinking what to wear in my closet, modern architecture (FLW, Corbusier etc) learn new language & culture ........... always busy for doing something fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie:
My major favorite is human drama.
"Life Is Beautiful" "Infernal affair" "Sting" "Bagdad Cafe" "3 idiots" "Untouchable" "The Dark Knite" "Matterhorn" and also SW... there is too many films to mention out there.
Anything of Wim Wenders, Wong Kar Wai, Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, Aki Kaurismäki and Hal Hartely.

Music:
Jazz, funk, Ambient, folk, sometimes Electronica and HipHop.
Fond of "Beirut", "Sigur Ros" and Musica Frontera Argentina like "Juana Molina" and "Alejandro Franov" for a couple of year.

I wouldn't listen so often anymore but I used to be a big fan of heavy metal, Diamond Darrel is still the coolest guy in the world for me.

Books:
Paulo Coelho, Banana Yoshimoto, Soseki Natsume, Ryu Murakami (not Haruki), Rattawut Lapcharoensap, Yuji Shimokawa, Michio Hoshino etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To name a few....
Scenery of Tibetan territory in Yunnan and the morning everest from the base camp, joined the metal music festival in Czech to see the big 4, stayed in the cave with Bedouin, being very very welcomed and tried a homemade wine at a feast my friend's home in Georgia........

Teach, Learn, Share

I am afraid that I don't have much I can share with you.....

I can be a teacher of Japanese language.
(I'm shame that I don't know much about Japanese history and culture. To be honest, I am not interested in that.)
Cooking Japanese dishes.

I'd like to practice conversation in English, and any other languages and culture.
And love to share experience in abroad.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you have soy sauce and dashi (soup stock), I would make some Japanese dishes!
