About Me

After a number of years living and travelling abroad, I am now living in Ghent again, enjoying this lovely city and finding my way back here. I'm always interested to meet likeminded people and perhaps hosting again when my house is in order.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted and couchsurfed, and met people for walks, and joined meetings in my city.
They were mainly very good experiences, meeting new people and feeling like meeting old friends.
For the last while I haven't been very involved in couchsurfing, but I'm looking forward to start meeting fellow couchsurfers again. It is definitely something that helped me to grow in my way of travelling and relating to people.

Interests

Taking the time to open up to a more real, healthy and slower way of living. Getting back in touch with nature. Learning from people and their stories. Finding more real, authentic connection.

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to forget names and titles that I like or are important for me, so here are a few random names..

Books: Eckhart Tolle, Caroline Myss, Anthony De Mello, Lee Harper, Robin Hobb, Harry Potter, Tuesdays with Morrie...

Movies: Angulimala and Departures impressed me a lot.
I also liked La Vita e Bela, The Gods Must be Crazy, Requiem for a Dream, a Beautiful Mind..
I enjoy series like Kung Fu and Avatar the last airbender.

Music: not really into a specific genre or artist, depends a lot on my mood, I enjoy artists like Beth Hart, Manu Chao, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Moddi, Nick Drake, Natalie Merchant, Liam Clancy, Irish traditional music, singer-songwriters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few things, I might tell you if we get along, what is amazing to do depends a lot on perception.

The kindness and generosity and warmth of many people that I met on my travels, which have had a big impact on my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always interested to share conversations about life or whatever comes up...
Sharing a meditation could be lovely too.

I am open to learn many things. I would like to learn to cook or can share my very beginning cooking skills with you. And I would love to hear about your culture, life in your country..
If you would like to go on a walk together and teach me a few new wild plants, I would be very happy.

I don't know what I can teach you, but if there is anything, I will be very happy to!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very considerate and helpful, I can wash the dishes, cook a meal for you or help you with other things.
Mainly would be nice to share some time to talk, our experiences with life, and get to know each other, which is probably the main purpose of couchsurfing?
I can share about my experiences with volunteering and travelling.
