About Me

CURRENT MISSION
to see as much of this world as I can, and learn as I go

ABOUT ME
I'm allergic to cats (but have stayed with a host with pets and it was fine,) my travel plans are often spur of the moment, I love taking photos of old and tall buildings, I'd read and write all hours of the day if I could and I *love* Art Nouveau.

PHILOSOPHY
Inspiration can be found in the simplest of things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently I mainly participate by meeting visitors (temporary and for longer-term) in Stockholm. As I'm starting to travel again, I will hopefully continue to meet people, and not only as hosts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Meeting people! Mainly at events organised by CS people, but also meeting people through talking on CS when they visit Stockholm (or I visit their city).
I have also organised a few Vegetarian/Vegan Nights in Stockholm through CS, which has been a lot of fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Mumford & Sons and bad 80's music, I read *a lot* so it's difficult to pick just a few books I'm interested in (I love bookcrossing and other book-sharing that you can often quite easily do while travelling - it has happened that I've lugged 5-6 books around in a big backpack for 6 weeks just because I couldn't help myself from buying them).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many, but some of the most amazing moments have come from the smallest things; getting lost in Italy by myself and not speaking the language (and no one spoke English in the area I was in at the time), drinking beer in Munich in torrential rain with a bunch of old Germans, finding my favourite book on a used-books table in Dublin, going grocery shopping in a strange country where I don't speak the language, taking a break to just sit and watch people stroll past. Being taken for a local by other tourists (this happens a lot for some reason). Meeting the eye of someone else, and nodding at each other in odd situations to say "I get it, I've been there too" without saying a word.

All the things that makes you find yourself, and helps you grow as a person and, when you look back on it, makes you smile -- often times far more than thinking about seeing a particular monument or tourist attraction, no matter how awe-inspiring it was at the time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some favourite recipes up my sleeve (I'm a vegetarian), plus my language skills (mainly English and Swedish) and general awesomeness. I'm also great at organising and will happily rearrange closets, bookshelves and spice racks for a couch. I have also been known to make websites (with my own coding, fairly simplistic but fully functional and nice looking).
