About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Keep travelling, keep experiencing, keep living!
ABOUT ME
In brief:
Journalist. Fun-loving, enthusiastic, and honest (if only because I'm a terrible liar).
Previously studied German, History, and Russian at Durham University. This doesn't mean I can speak either language well, but I try.
Travel is one of the most important things in my life (possibly the most important thing). I blame my parents for taking me on too many holidays as a child. Once you've started seeing the world, you just can't stop!
PHILOSOPHY
Can I steal some from other people instead?
Be the change that you want to see in the world. (Gandhi)
The more side roads you stop to explore, the less likely that life will pass you by. (Robert Brault)
The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. (Mark Twain)
But basically, my life philosophy goes something like this: live every day as if it's your last, but don't be afraid to slow down and enjoy that day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sadly, at the moment I can only attend meetings and surf, but one day I'd like to host!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A friend I met in Vienna introduced me to CouchSurfing, as we were looking for ways to get to know the locals. I've been to meetings, met a few people for coffee, and even been hosted for two memorable days in Prague and an insane week in Romania.
Interests
Reading. Writing. Watching an entire TV series in a week or less. Seeing old friends. Making new friends. Travelling. Exploring. Taking photos. Trying unusual sports. Practising my languages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The night sky when I was camping near a mountain pass in Peru - I never knew that the sky could hold so many stars...
Teach, Learn, Share
Not much I'm afraid - I have lots of travelling stories if you're interested, and I also know far too much about British history, but I'm hopelessly impractical, so nothing in that department!
Countries I’ve Visited
Ecuador, Romania, Togo
Countries I’ve Lived In
Austria, Russian Federation, United Kingdom
