About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm still figuring out this "adult" thing. I've been living in Spain since 2011 and have been slowly establishing myself in the world of improvised theatre and comedy. Every year I realize that I'm putting down more and more roots, but still hanging on to my freedom.

ABOUT ME

Most of my time is spent on my theatre- teaching, acting, administrating.

My favorite thing to do while traveling is trying unique local cuisine. I'm always up for free things, hiking, camping, throwing around the frisbee. I like seeing a *good* music, comedy, or theatre show. (I've been to too many bad ones :-) )

I'm easy-going, liberal, and often cracking jokes (in English). I love to cook. I am not religious. I am looking to take more risks and adventures in my life.

PHILOSOPHY

I am trying to be as open as possible and allow myself to change and be effected.

I believe that every person has a responsibility to the world community and that we should be compassionate, clean, and kind to each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love that I can go almost anywhere and meet a friendly face. This has been a great way to meet new friends, learn about the world, and have fun. I try to go to CS events when they happen in the city I'm visiting. I'll meet anyone for a drink or a bite or a tour to see the local's perspective.

PLEASE INCLUDE THE PHRASE "SHISH KEBAB" IN YOUR COUCH REQUESTS SO I KNOW YOU READ MY PROFILE. THANK YOU!

My girlfriend and I live together in a 4th story walkup flat about 3km from the center, close to public transportation options.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just started couchsurfing when I started my world tour in 2011 and it has been a fantastic way to meet locals and find things to do that aren't in the guidebook. I have been to music performances, weddings, grandparent's farms, protests, schools... It's definitely a great way to travel.

Interests

I love watching comedy and theatre and live music. I read and watch the news regularly and like talking about current issues. I enjoy drinking, smoking, and pot moderately.

Music, Movies, and Books

(Note- I never update this anymore. Too hard to stay current)

I love comedy movies and documentaries. Especially documentaries about animals, social issues, and ancient civilizations.
Favorite movies: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Simpsons Movie, Reservoir Dogs, Juno, Big Fan, Natural Born Killers, Superbad, Family Guy, Evolution, Sin City, Swingers, Monty Python movies, Snatch, Forrest Gump...

I enjoy classic rock, jam bands, live jazz, rock, and I'm trying to listen to more classical (to relax) and pop (to stay current).
Favorite bands: Phish, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, String Cheese Incident, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Grateful Dead,

I read mostly non-fiction- I love to learn! I read books on social issues, economics, politics, and history. The only fiction I've read recently have been by Dan Brown and Margaret Atwood.
Also read recently - Fierce Invalids from Hot Climates by Tom Robbins, Garbage Land, Blood and Thunder, Zealot by Reza Aslan

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the oldest paved road on the continent of Europe. Ask me where it is. :-)

I went out hiking at 5AM in the Smoky Mountains because I couldn't sleep. I just started walking up the first trail I found and ended up atop a ridge overlooking the sun rise over the Boulder Mountains. It was incredible.

I backpacked solo for 5 months around Europe and Turkey
